So what does the rest of the world think of Obama?

I think he's doing a pretty good job, actually! I liked his trip down to Latin America. It was definitely necessary to even begin to repair how much Bushie had destroyed America's image... But, being, well, American, I don't really get to hear much else of the world's opinion. So what say you?

He's a politician, what more do you want?
We want him to fix all our problems of course; or at least fix more than he causes. I have a higher opinion of him than any other current politician at any rate.

When his cabinet is fully staffed with law-abiding citizens, and he stops racking up dept, then I shall take him seriously as a leader.

Eh hes alright, hounestly I think hes a very good showman, hes just another politician who plays his words well and knows what people want to hear dont know if he can do what he says but dosent effect me. The most unique thing about him is his skin dance around it asmuch as you like thats all that sets him out amongst the other endless drones of his party.

He's much better than Bush was. That's not tough though, sadly (even McCain was better than Bush, and he's yet another Republican - HERESY!!!!!) Yeah, I'm British but a Democrat supporter (Conservative in the UK though), and Obama does look like he could be a decent leader. Following some of his policies he has some pretty good ideas, and I just wish that our own PM could take such a lead (for example, Obama seems to be cutting wasteful public spending, yet in the UK Gordon Brown continues to waste taxpayer's money on 'sewage drains', as it were...). Yeah, Obama does look like a good leader, and with Biden as VP it seems that his lack of experience is being made up for with an experienced VP and good policies. Let's just hope that your, and our, faith in him isn't misplaced over the next 3 and three quarter years...

I feel sorry for him. Here's my analogy:
Bush went to a restaurant, ate 4 mexian bean burritors with suicide wings then got piss drunk and deficated all over a bathroom. He sobers up then goes home.
The restaurant throws Obama a bucket and mop and says "make it snappy!"

He's a politician.

I'll answer this question properly in two years, when we've seen what kind of politician he really is.

I'm English and I think Obama is what the USA needs, simply showing he is able to rise up from nothing to President show intense determination, more of that can only be good, right?

Not to mention Browns ID card plans which will rack what 2 billion? Along with the recent retiring of an MEP who ontop of his already generous pay get £100, 000 retirment fund of taxpayer money rediculous.

This is a joke, right? Obama's "idea" about "cutting wasteful public spending" has been to promise MORE THAN THE GDP in "funding" to various projects, real or imagined. That's right.

He has no clue, and what's worse, he has no clue that he has no clue. If you Brits want him, take him. Hell, take the entire U.S. gov't while you're at it, and New York City and Southern California for good measure.

Sadly enough, both parties are exactly the same :(.

No matter what tripe anyone tries to tell you, both the Republicans and Democrats are each trying for the same thing: greater governmental control.

Embrace Anarchy IMO.

Oh, don't get me started on those bleeding MEP's... The worst thing the UK ever did was to join the EU. Basically everything that went wrong in this country started when we joined the EU (who's responsible for the decline of British farming? Human Rights? The Euro, and Black Wednesday back in 1992? It wasn't the NAFTA, that's for sure...*). Blair didn't make it any better, of course, since he was always staunchly pro-Europe, and look where that's got us. As a Tory I fervently hope that when David Cameron gets elected next year, as he will (next year is only assuming no-one calls for a vote of no confidence in Gordon Brown's Government before then), that he tells the EU to shove it.

*For those who don't know, NAFTA is the North American Free Trade Alliance and is basically a free trade agreement between North and Central American countries, mainly Canada and the USA. The US asked the UK to join a while back, even though we aren't part of North America, but we couldn't because we were in the EU at the time, and still are. Despite this we still have a closer relationship with the US than any EU member state...

He grew up in a white, middle-class neighbourhood and attended private school.

Doesn't sound like "nothing" to me.
