Superpower for historic figures! Yes I want real life superheroes with super powers but I probably cause the Earth to blow up if this were to happen.

Videogames.
That way... they become an accepted medium long before we're born...
and no one would've ever taken idiots like Jack Thompson or Michael Atkinson seriously.

Richard Dawkins in 1st century Palestine. Just to see what would happen.
I like your line of thinking..but Im not entirely sure of your intent....would you be hoping for a particular outcome?(him to die, him find Jesus is a fraud, to admit there is a/still say there is no God) Just curious mate

Personally I'd have dinosaurs, dinosaurs would improve history ten fold. World war 1, with dinosaurs! The Olympics, with dinosaurs! The ice age, with dinosaurs!
you forgot the most important thing improved by dinos

Im torn between thinking that image awesome and so scary I'd shit my intestines out if it were real

OT: give American settlers the ability to produce to modern guns, thermal/infrared goggles!!!!! And to be quasi-fair I'd make the Native Americans immune to smallpox and all the illnesses that killed them

I'd like to see him apply modern scientific theory to the time. He could have ended up dispelling religion as we know it, and could have changed the last 2000 years of history.

Although he might start being worshipped as a God himself, which I'm not sure he'd appreciate :D

Time Machines.

Heh. No way that CAN'T change history.

And they do exist.

Natural ones do exist.
They're called Black Holes.
Technically, they're not really time machines, as you can only go one direction. You'll go slower relative to the rest of the universe, but you're still moving forward in time.

Plus you'll also have to deal with getting out of said black hole for it to matter at all.
And a Black Hole is not a machine.Considering a Machine is defined as an artifact with one or more movable parts created to solve one or more functions...

OT: I'd introduce electricity to the dark ages... I mean they were so dark...

Not trying to poke holes in your ideas but(based on my understanding of the period) it might turn out that not 1 person would understand what he's saying...and if you sent him back speaking the language of the day they might brand him as crazy or a heretic.

True. He'd have to educate everyone (or at least those in power) with the last 2000 years of scientific knowledge for them to understand his point. And that isn't counting the language barrier that is sure to be there.

Oh, and he probably would be branded a heretic. Historically, thats what happened to Jesus at the time. I'm sure it would happen to Dawkins too, expecially since he would be trying to dispell an entire culture of it's beliefs.

Personally? I'd go back to when my country was founded. Include in the whole "life liberty pursuit of happiness" thing we have healthcare for those who can't pay for it. Because denying someone necessary medical care based on income is taking away their right to life, and makes us no better than our ancestors who executed people for owing a debt. I'll have more sympathy for pro-life groups once they start taking care of the people who are already here.
