So what makes a guy a dickhead?

Loud, obnoxious, intimidating people, that basically drag a lot of attention to themselves. They try to stand out however they can. What they wear, how they speak, what they say... usually they act with total disrespect for everyone around them, except their friends (who they are never without).

These people, are big, freaking, cowards. They can't go through life just minding their own business. They're too scared nobody will notice them. They have to disturb as many people as they can, to feel important, or something.

I don't get it, but the guys sure are dickheads.

Oh yeah, also people that have extremely loud vehicles (motorcycles im looking at you, but also cars). They think when people hear their engine they think "oh wow thats sooooooooooo cooooooooooooooooool! I wish I had that!" But in reality, people, after jumping in reaction to the sudden noise, groan and think "ugh, I hate that noise so much, that's so annoying".

It also annoys me when drivers are impatient about pedestrians. I mean, you get to sit on your ass while a vehicle propels you at extreme speed, and someone that has to walk needs to cross the street. An action that takes -seconds- and you inch along, rev your engine and act like its the worst thing in the world. GOOD LORD I HATE DRIVERS! Appreciate your freaking car, not everyone gets to enjoy the luxury! But regardless, when you do get out of your car and need to cross a street (say, in a parking lot) you're not going to want some dickhead reving at you and acting impatient! So don't do it to others! Ya dick!

Well if I go by the way some guys have treated me in the past...

Being too ashamed to admit you're together or that he knows you. Not holding your hand in public and making sure you only met at night so no one sees you together but he could still get sex out of you.

Spending absolutely ages trying to get into your knickers then completely distancing himself afterwards and acting like a little *****.

Only texting you when they have problems and need your advice but ignoring you in your hour of need.

Dickhead is probably the most gentle word to use.

Dickheads are the people that refuse to use their goddamn turn signals. Seriously, those people are the cancer of the world.

Audi drivers mostly. I have a long running joke that audis dont have indicators fittted as standard

Is "dickhead" really a clearly defined term these days? I call anyone (male or female, friend or stranger) who even slightly annoys me a dick/dickhead. It can be said in a serious or a jokey way and its meaning is entirely dependent on context.

Basically, I really wouldn't worry about it too much.

Im the same the example above pretty much sums up the frequency I use this word. I dont think it is a strong enough word for some of these people mentioned

OT: people who say that people who go into relationships for sex are some sort of comedic villians. Sex is a big part of a relationship and youd be pretty naive not to consider it a pretty major factor. Sure you dont go out with someone just for sex but dont lie and say its not important

Dickhead is kind of a subjective insult. Generally it just means someone who's rude or inconsiderate.
But it's such a light insult that sometimes it isn't one at all.
If one was in a cheeky mood they might greet a friend with "Y'alright dickhead?"

It doesn't have a specific meaning like the stereotype/boogeyman, the "nice guy."
What makes a dickhead for me? Anyone who texts while driving (male or female).
It's just the right combination of stupid and selfish.

Well I have a coworker who bases his entire opinion of a woman on how she looks, if she isn't attractive to him he considers her totally worthless and won't even acknowledge her existence. If he does find her attractive he will stare at her ass and complain about how he deserves a good looking trophy girlfriend. And of course there's all the Facebook stalking as well. Dickhead.
