Toss Prototype out the window

its really only fun when you have all the super powers and the sword arm (nothing turning entire crowds of folks into french fries)

Red Dead Redemption
That is a good game...MP is fun too...love the story of it too!
GotY

Fallout New Vegas

IMO buy Fallout 3....much more to remember

Red Dead, definitely. It has a weird RPG character to it anyway, and it will blow you away many times, visually, thematically, and occasionally even emotionally. The scale of the thing is just epic.

Prototype's fun, but has zero replay value beyond occasional 5 minute mass-murder sprees.

NV... Meh. Bugs everywhere. Not bad though (judging from a friend's playthrough, not played it myself)

Three games got my attention recently and I'm a bit of a bind as to which one of the three deserve my hard earn money

-Fallout: New Vegas (although I didn't play fallout 3)
-Red Dead Redemption
-Prototype

Usually am a RPG fan (mostly of the bioware variety, oblivion was meh to the point of frustration), storyline a pretty big thing but an action filled and fun gameplay is pretty important, but sandox come second in my library
im a loyalist to the original fallout games so i will never recommend a modern fallout game. prototype is frustrating and the story is whatever, but its find and mindless overall. red dead redemption is what im currently playing. its fun but so far i find it very easy (im like halfway through and the only time ive died is when i wasnt paying attention and rode off a cliff). the voice acting is great, the characters are very strong, and the sick sense of humor is fantastic. so far im not terrible impressed by the story though. of the 3 youre considering, id say rdr

im not really a fan of bioware. they made good games but nothing they have released impressed me very much. oblivion i found the be very fun...that is, until i started the main quest. thief and assassin quests were fun as hell though. i dont wanna sound like an old man preaching about the good old days, but have you played the baldurs gate games (pc ones, not the shitty console versions) or arcanum? if you want a good rpg with an amazing story, you cant do much better than those games

Get Red Dead Redemption, awesome story with interesting characters, huge map to explore complete with wildlife and random events, lots of replayability after single player is done, and then there is the multiplayer which, whilst quite dull in random free roams, is a hilarious clusterfuck in competitive game modes.

New Vegas is a mess, not much of an improvement from Fallout 3. I actually prefer F3, everything at least felt unique the first time round, New Vegas just feels like the same shit that I grew tired of over a year ago. I think Fallout 3/NV is/are worse than Oblivion (I love Oblivion still, currently playing it again right now. F3 is just boring now), so if you didn't like Oblivion I wouldn't get NV.

Prototype is fun, definitely a good superhero game but it gets repetitive quick and there really isn't much today after completing the main game other than jump around the city fighting random mutants which, like every other superhero game, grows old fast. I'd get it if it was on sale. It's like Saints Row 2, Just Cause 2 etc for me, lots of gimmicks that are fun for a while upon purchase, but after completion they're only playable for like 30 minutes.

Whats with all the hate on Prototype? Who cares about the story anyways? Did you expect some mindblowing drama of love, mystique, and betrayal? No! Prototype is about eating zombies, turning your arms into blades, literally slicing a tank in half, backflipping away while turning your arm into a whip in midair, shooting it at a helicopter, pulling yourself towards it, hijacking it and using it to blow even more crap up! AND IT'S AWESOME.

Don't get Prototype.
Get inFamous, or you could wait and get inFamous 2.
A much better game than prototype.

Get Red Dead for sure. I can say, without much hyperbole, that Red Dead is one of the finest games ever made. I would even say, emotional attachments to Shadow of the Colossus and Oblivion aside, that it could be the best game of this generation.

Of course, come November that won't be true but it still rocks.

So buy it now!!

Oh, and Undead Nightmare is probably the best DLC I've ever played (although I usually ignore DLC)

Or you can get pretty much the same sort of gameplay (with better controls and better diffculty curve) along with Deeper story, decent character development and a perfect setup for a sequel by playing inFamous.

I'd get infamous but I have a xbox360
Oh.. that is a dilemma. I have both, so no title is exclusively no access to me.
In that case, I'd get Red Dead.
New Vegas is okay but it really is just Fallout 3 with less polish.

Well get new vegas for the PC if your not a pc gamer forget that. Red Dead if you want a fun open world game with great story and multi-player. Prototype if you just want to fuck up every thing.

I'm confused why I'm quoted :3

But yeah, my brother has Infamous and I have a 360 and PS3, so I could play it. I've just never really liked the look of it. I prefer Prototype's over the top gameplay where you can bodysurf infected by drop kicking them in the back of the skull from the sky. That does get kinda old fast though, but I'd prefer ridiculous gore like that over Infamous, which to me just feels like a third person shooter where weapons are swapped out with their lightning equivalents.

I'm probably wrong about Infamous, but I'm stubborn when it comes to games. I will have this fixed vision of what a video game is, it could be nothing like it, but I'll never change it no matter what anyone says. Then, when I play it I'm like "WHY THE FUCK DIDN'T YOU TELL ME IT WAS LIKE THISSS".

I believe the more important question is: which seat can you take?

OT: Red Dead Redemption, by far. I've played a little bit of Prototype and it seems to be your average sandbox game while Fallout New Vegas is supposedly (I haven't played it to be honest)still rather buggy. Red Dead Redemption, on the other hand, is a well made sandbox game which can best be described as a GTA period piece with a better story and a more developed online component.
