The problem? Only Japan gets a physical copy. North America and Europe get only a digital version.

And now I am a sad panda.

Out of the blue question: Would you happen to be able to point me to where I can request an avatar to be made? I tried searching, and for all my effort I can't find it. I would like to get myself an avatar of Ammy spinning around in a circle really fast. Spin your stick fast enough and it makes her look like she's break dancing. =p

Hey. HEY. HEEEEEYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! Calm down. I have some bad news for you. I'm afraid that you. . . you have an obsession. You're obsessed with a game to the point where your life circulates around it, and that could be bad for you in the long run.

Ahem.

OT: Don't have a PS3 (sadface since I love many playstation exclusives. . . *cries*) so can't get it. Could get the original for my Wii, but don't have the money. And even so, then I'd probably end up playing it on a 12" TV from the mid-90s. It used to be in my grandpa's RV, but got it from him when he got a new one (TV that is, not RV).

I could probably move the Wii out to the 42" LCD if I wanted to, but I'd never have the chance to play it then. . . suffice to say, the rest of the family likes to use that TV. A LOT. Especially my dog. <.<

I haven't (yet?). Was hoping for a physical copy. Considering importing the Asia version since it has English subtitles (according to Play-Asia at least [http://www.play-asia.com/Okami_Zekkeiban_HD_w_both_English_Japanese_subtitles/paOS-13-71-bp-49-en-70-59zz.html]).

I got it, first time playing it as well. It's very pretty but so far I am unimpressed. I just revived the first Sakura Tree.

i will check it out soon, i missed the original when it came out years ago (I was a different person back then in terms of my favorite game genres) But i heard so much gushing i may as well have been in a park full of geysers that shoot nothing but praise instead of water.

(thankfully i can ignore hype and enjoy something based on it's own merits, so i'll probably like this)

i own a ps3 but have not got it yet. i own okami for the wii and i don't have a hd tv. there is not much reason for me to get it right away.

i hear the game has the original credit unlike the wii version so i would buy it for that reason alone

I've never player the game before, but from what I've heard it's a Zelda clone. Is that true? I love Hideki Kamiya games because of how creative they usually are, so I have a hard time believing that it rips off another franchise.

You could always try The Avatar Store. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Avatar-Store-New-and-Second-Hand] Just post what you would like and I'm sure someone will help you.

Also, yes, I have done the breakdancing Ammy :D

Don't confuse obsession with utmost praise.

I've only completed the game twice, and it ranks nowhere near the top of the list of my 'Most played' games.

I just really like Okami.

But that wouldn't be nearly as fun! <.<

I'm going to stick to my belief that you have a little altar dedicated to Okami in your room, and that you meditate/worship it (that is, plays it) every morning and every night. Also, you consult it whenever you have to make an important decision. ^_^

And no, you don't get to argue. I've decided that your life looks like that. Just like Redlin5 lives in a pokeball-house full of pokemon toys and stuff. And his computer is a laptop that looks like a pokedex. :D (Before you ask, yes, I am most certainly insane to make stuff like this up about random people on the internet based on their avatars and stuff they like. Insane, and proud of it. ^_^)

Well then it's a good thing Okami isn't a shooter, huh? :p
Yeah, I know, was talking generally about where and why I need a m/k setup the most, but honestly, atm, I have problem with any 3D game :\

Mate bought me RDR in Germany though (wish I lived somewhere where there were cheaper games), so I'll get some 3D practice now :)

I'm on the fence of getting it. I have the PS2 version and love it, but is the new paint job worth $20? Also are there any issues/problem with it I should know before I get it?

I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best HD port I've seen of any game to date.

Even more than Ico and Shadow of the Colossus.

No issues for me yet, but I'm not that far in.

Not yet, but it is on my "to get" list.

I regret never playing it on the PS2 (although being a kid w/o a job and skimpy parents may have been partly to blame). I always thought it looked like an awesome game, but I just never got the opportunity

But Okami, Dishonored, and ME1 (when it gets its PS3 release) are on the top of my list this christmas (in no particular order there)

Didn't play Okami the first time around, I completely missed picking it up for some reason even though it seemed like it'd be good, but I'll definitely pick up the HD remake in a minute or two when I can be bothered to boot up the PS3 and check it out.

So thanks you for the heads up, I'll be downloading it shortly....but I will be holding you personally responsible if it's not any good. :)
Okay, I've currently just hit Kusa(? the second village) having just finished the ruins in the forest and it's still all oppressive in there. Loving the game and playing it slightly obsessively so all of you recommending it are off of the hook. There's so many collectables and stuff to find that my gaming OCD is kicking in.

The one thing I don't like about the game is how slowly everyone talks in the event scenes when you can't speed them up. The opening intro storytelling alone took 20 minutes and included 4 prompts for one character laughing the slowest I have ever seen anyone laugh. Getting those chests below the deck in the first village was a bit of an ordeal as well.
