Not interested in either. I loved modern warfare, I enjoyed 2 (but it was bought for me as a gift when I'd asked for something else. I don't want that to sound ungrateful, I really enjoyed the game and appreciated the present, but wanted it to be clear it was not a game I chose myself), and while i enjoy multiplayer modes, I buy games because the singleplayer story is what brings me in. I think the modern warfare story should have been left ended in the original (again, I enjoyed 2 but the story was... wierd, with too much of a 'WTF? Seriously?' crux for me to take it seriously as i had MW), and battlefield 3 has too much fo a multi focus for my tastes. Plus, not especially a fan of the modern shooter genre (nope, no black ops here either).

Hahah I'm going to get both because I can't resist all of the peer pressure I receive from the other 30-something professionals at work to play gritty modern shooters in my spare time ;p

Seriously though I'm going to get both because I love FPS games. This year I got Killzone 2, Crysis 2, Resistance 3, and F.E.A.R.3, and of course I'm going to get BF3 and MW3 too. I see a lot whining about the glut of shooters these days, but for those of us who can't get enough of them this is the best time to be a gamer!

In fact, we need more FPS games. I want to see more crossovers. We've had FPS/RPG crossovers in the form of Fallout 3, Deus Ex, Bioshock, etc. And FPS/Survival Horror lke Metro 2033. And FPS/Strategy like the Rainbow Six series. These are all great games.

Now we need an FPS/Rhythm game. Or an FPS/Dating Sim ;p

I might try one or other of them on a rental basis if I am bored of my games and have a little time on my hands (unlikely on either count).

I certaintly won't be buying either but may pick up bad company 2 on the cheap some day as I did quite like the original.

Probably not. MW3's probably going to suck balls (i.e: be a carbon copy of the last one, except with more 'splosions), and after I heard BF3 ballsed up it's single-player I doubt I'll be playing another FPS 'till Bioshock Infinite.

Renting both of them like I do with every FPS. Unless they make one with a SP campaign over 40 hours long FPS will never be worth buying. MP only adds something if they bring out a new map pack like every 2 weeks.

Not interested in MW3 since I played CoD 4 and 5, and just didn't enjoy the gameplay.

Bad Company 3: Medal of Honor Edition I would probably only enjoy for a couple of months before it got old, like BC2 did for me. I guess I'd probably pick it up if I had friends that played it, but as it is I have no reason to buy it.

I am not getting either.

I am not getting BF3 because of Origin, Battlenet, and it's made by EA. The fuckers.

I am not getting MW3, because I simply have no interest in it.

What would I like to see added to more FPS's? Color. Seriously, enough with all the khaki colored FPS's. It's kinda monotone.

I'm not buying them because I don't like online play (at least the type of play seen in these games) the single player experience just isn't meaty enough to justify the large price. I'm spending my money on other games that I can get my money's worth.

I don't play shooters, I lack the "twitch" reflex. So if there is a sandbox game that has shooting it is okay but no pure shooters.

I do watch play troughs though and well I dunno the story seems rather I would give the story in many of these shooters a 6. It is doable it gets you there but it doesn't pulls me in.

Crysis for instance.. nah! That was bad it made a good Demo game though "look at what my card can show" .. yeah but the story was not really there.

I'm not going to buy either....
Won't buy BF3 because of origin... (Screw you EA)
and won't buy MW3 because the community is horrible....

And if you're going to say that I can get BF3 on a console... I wouldn't, even if I did own one...

I don't have as much time for video games as I used to, and I'm really looking forward to playing Skyrim. So no, I won't be getting either MW/BF3, because I'm only going to have time for Skyrim. Plus TF2 fulfills my shooter needs atm.

Ya...I'm so sick of modern shooters I just stopped playing them.
So BF3 and MW3 is out.

I really enjoyed Borderlands, and Fallout 3.
I play Reach when people ask me to play with them...but that's about it nowadays.

As of right now, I'm going to try to avoid buying either. I'm not that interested in BF3 anyway, but I'd intended to get MW3. For now, I'm skipping it.

I'm getting neither. The subject matter of "military shooter" just doesn't appeal to me in an FPS format. Besides, I like story driven games and for these kind of games the single player campaign seems to be something of an afterthought or a tutorial to the multiplayer. However...

What peer pressure? I have no idea what you are implying or talking about.

Well I am avoiding battlefeild thanks to origin and modern warfare because I do not care for the multiplayer.
Both I will wait for the price to go down.
Battlefeild could be fun in the multiplayer front but I could not justify £40 just for the single player.

Not planning on getting BF3 because I dislike the pacing, and my experiences in BC2 weren't all that fun either.

I'll play MW3 if someone gifts it, otherwise I'm going to pug in UT2004 for all I'm worth.

It turns out i need a new gpu to fully enjoy bf3, so i guess ill only rent mw3 some time in the future for its single player (what? its like a good popcorn flick that will last me at least 6 hours), but im not gonna buy either of them since i dont care about fps multiplayer.
