I'm not buying either of them simly because
CoD is the same game every year just with a different weapon or two and a slightly different storyline

And i couldn't ever get into Battlefield

Besides, Skyrim is going to wipe the floor with them both

I'm not buying BF3, just not interested, and I'm sick with COD, I hate the releasing the same game every year but with re-designed and re-named guns, and a bad single-player.

Wont be buying either. Never played battlefield and last CoD I played was the one before world at war and never really played multiplayer. Skyrim on the other hand I will be playing the shit out of when I have time between assignments. The game will be all the sweeter since I traded a hat from TF2 for it lol

Ok, so it's equal season and half of my XBL and PSN friends list is playing BF3. I have no doubt that the other half will be playing MW3 when that's released. I just wanted to know who else isn't really that keen on either and simply refuses to bow to social pressure. While I like my FPS as much as the next guy/girl I'm just a little tired of the modern iteration.

For Further discussion value: What would you like to see added to/ Changed in FPS's
All I read was "I'm a special snowflake and I won't buy popular mainstream games because they are too popular for me. I'll stick with my underrated serbian rpg's that you've probably never heard about".

Now seriously, if you don't like FPS's, that's good for you, do you seriously have to open a thread and tell everyone that you don't like them? If you want to blog about your life, open a blog. That's what they are for

I'm not buying MW3, but I already bought BF3.

I don't care what time period it's in, as long as the developers manage to keep it fresh and fun, I'll try it. I played the BF3 beta, I liked it, and so I decided to buy it.

From what I've seen of MW3, they're not making any attempt at a different formula for multiplayer, and I'll just rent it for the singleplayer.

I used to love MW2, but after a while it just started to piss me off, Black Ops went a somewhat different direction, but was still too similar for my taste. I still kinda like Black Ops though.

What I'm trying to say is, that I'm loving BF3 so far, and I'm on the fence about MW3, and leaning towards the not buying side of the fence.

I don't think I'll buy BF3. I dunno, it just strikes me as a title meant for pc, (even with all the origin BS) of which I have a pretty poor one. As for MW3? Maybe, I'm not sure. Like a lot of you, there are a lot of games I'd rather play. I might have to give it a miss or a wait for a price drop.

Me. Hate where battlefield has gone- tries to be too realistic. I hate where Call of Duty's player-base has gone (ie, 8 year olds).

Both a fine games. Except battlefield isnt what i likes about battlefield, and i cant play Modern Warfate due to the aforementioned 8 year olds.

Ive also stopped playing Team Fortress 2 since Free to play for the same reason.

Plus...

SKYRIM!

Not interested in either.

My first priority in what I look for in a game is a good single player experience. While the original Modern Warfare had a great story, it's not something I'd want to pay 60 bucks for. And since then, the CoD campaigns have gotten shorter and more rediculous so I'm even less willing to pay money to access the experience.

When it comes to multiplayer, I'm more interested in co-op than competitive. The spec ops missions the new survival mode in MW3 look pretty fun, but, again, that's not enough for me to be willing to pay 60 bucks.

Competitive online multiplayer is something I can play for 2-3 hours, think to myself "that was pretty fun," then move on. I may play it more if I have real life friends to play with, but none of my friends play CoD or Battlefield, so that's out. In the end, the head-to-head multiplayer just doesn't have lasting appeal for me.

If I was given a copy of MW3 or BF3 through no personal expenditure, I'd play it, and I'd have some fun with it, but it's not the kind of experience I'm willing to pay my own money for.

Me and myself! I'm good at FPSes and enjoy a good one from time to time, but MW feels burnt out and a repackaging of the same droll stuff and BF3 comes with the irresistible gift of Origin. So I'll just stick with my main genre - 4X, thank you.

MW3 wont ever touch my HD. I just don't like the series at all, i played it, didnt like them.

Not buying Cod simply because I only really play that game for the split screen online and you only need one copy for that... and my cousin is getting a copy... so no point.

As for Battlefield that's a maybe, but not for a long while. Don't have internet on my xbox at the moment (ethernet cable is broken and its hard to get a wireless internet thing for the older models of the 360) and apparently the single player isn't brill so might have to wait for the online to come on and even then its if I can actually be arsed.

I'm not getting either because;
COD is now boring to me.
Battlefield doesn't feel like Battlefield 2142 and back (2, 1942, Nam).

a return to arcade style games like timespliters and Unreal Tournament, with fast paced game play, little to no hand-holding and not regenerating health bars.

I'm not buying MW3 because call of duty is now a shitty over rated series that is basically the exact same game with a pallet swap every sequel and sometimes not even that.

I'm not buying battlefield 3 NOT because i don't like battlefield (i like battlefield) but because EA is trying to force EA origin down my throat by taking all there games off of steam and making it so battlefield 3 wont be on steam and trying to make it so that we HAVE to go and get there stupid fucking program that is full of spyware and tons of other things that are specifically made so EA can rape your computer.

If EA comes back and puts there games back on steam then for sure ill buy battlefield 3 but otherwise they have lost my business forever.

Well not buying CoD, that's been my stand for a while. BF3... well I won't buy it myself but it would be nice to get it as a gift xD BF seems a little bit more fun than CoD because it has vehicles to mix it up a little.

But either way, my purchases before Christmas are just Arkham City (completed it the other day, loved it) and Saints Row 3 :) Will be getting Skyrim as a gift hopefully :D
