So who else isn't buying BF3 or MW3

COD is now boring to me.
Battlefield doesn't feel like Battlefield 2142 and back (2, 1942, Nam).

For Further discussion value: What would you like to see added to/ Changed in FPS's

a return to arcade style games like timespliters and Unreal Tournament, with fast paced game play, little to no hand-holding and not regenerating health bars.

I'm not buying MW3 because call of duty is now a shitty over rated series that is basically the exact same game with a pallet swap every sequel and sometimes not even that.

I'm not buying battlefield 3 NOT because i don't like battlefield (i like battlefield) but because EA is trying to force EA origin down my throat by taking all there games off of steam and making it so battlefield 3 wont be on steam and trying to make it so that we HAVE to go and get there stupid fucking program that is full of spyware and tons of other things that are specifically made so EA can rape your computer.

If EA comes back and puts there games back on steam then for sure ill buy battlefield 3 but otherwise they have lost my business forever.

Well not buying CoD, that's been my stand for a while. BF3... well I won't buy it myself but it would be nice to get it as a gift xD BF seems a little bit more fun than CoD because it has vehicles to mix it up a little.

But either way, my purchases before Christmas are just Arkham City (completed it the other day, loved it) and Saints Row 3 Will be getting Skyrim as a gift hopefully

I am not buying either. For one I'm a Wii owner and NoA have been screwing us over for years, but mostly because I'm not an FPS kind of person. I much prefer TPS instead, though I honestly couldn't tell you why other than preference. I'm one of those weird guys who travels in third person in Fallout 3 then only if I really need to (for some reason the aiming sucks more in third person) switch to first person for gun combat.

Haven't bought a new game since Witcher 2 in May Deus Ex: HR in August so I have dosh loaded and ready. Besides, Skyrim only cost me
30 ? and last year I only bought New Vegas.

It is unlikely that I will ever put down money for either one. If MW3 has a decent campaign, I might get it when it's cheap. (I play very few FPS's, and I play them for the Campaign. I've never gotten into Multilayer)

You don't have to buy it but like it or not the Modern fps is here to stay and I fear that this wont change for many years. If Call of Duty moves into the future then we can expect a lot more of shooting aliens than Russian terrorists.

Neither because I don't know what I hate more, military shooters or console shooters. And BF3 is a console shooter that just works well on the PC, using all the trappings and not even ashamed of it.

So... please don't break my heart, Sam Stone. Though between giant monsters and an energy-whip that decapitates them, you're already 1000 times more intersting than Sgt. Blandface's guided tour through Genericstan.

I own Halo: Reach and Call of Duty 4. It hardly seems necessary to buy Modern Warfare 3 when they tend to add fuck all in terms of innovation and when the story gets consistently worse with every single fucking installment until you start to wonder when that series is going to just fucking die.

This season my plans are limited to Saint's Row: The Third so i can shoot pedestrians from a rickshaw being pulled by a gimp and maybe if i can get a decent paycheck in December, i may update to a PS3 so i can check out inFamous 2. I put some thought into checking out a Wii, which shows you just how exhausted i was last night. I've got to stop pulling all nighters on low caffeine...

Oh. Right. Topic. In my opinion since i can't go online with my 360, Modern Warfare 3 is only worth $20, and i'm not spending $60 on a marginal update to a game i already own and bought for $6.

I'm not buying them, but a friend lent me a copy of BF3(PC if you're asking), so if I want to, I can uninstall it(and I'm going to, as I need more space on my Hard Drive for Assassins Creed Revelations ), but I'm not buying MW3 or installing it.

Partly because they're fairly generic and un-original, but mostly because I'm saving for a new graphics card

I would like more FPS games to implement more stealth, and a wider varierty of approaches to problems, besides murder.
-Also, a better plot.

I've already got Battlefield, and I have MW3 on pre-order.
Being tired of the typical modern FPS is a perfectly good reason not to buy them. I'm not tired of them yet.

Anyway, I'd love to see a FPS that completely shatters the fourth wall, and leaves it that way. It would be the sort of over-the-top nonstop shootybangfest that Bulletstorm was trying to be, and smug about it, too. There'd be a gritty announcer narrating the entire event, and nothing would be taken seriously.

"Alright, so you just killed a bunch of bad guys. Whatever. RANDOM QUICK TIME EVENT! Just kidding, that would suck. Next level: more bad guys! I LIED, NOW WRESTLE THIS LION!"

The only reason to buy either of them now would be an excellent campaign... that's longer than five hours. And we all know what are the odds of that happening.

A few additions, maybe a graphical tweak.
It might be okay to own one, but beyond that you're just wasting money on the same game.

There's also the lack of the story focus that I like and the matter that
If I wanted pure "realism" I wouldn't be playing a game

Assassins' Creed Revelations: Yes.

Just got BF3 (2nd mission done... yay...) and still have not beat Dark Souls, but I did beat RAGE. So anyway I'm pretty booked up on game time for the next month or two... hopefully nothing awesome comes out until next spring lol.
