I loved it. An amazing game. It was simply the lack of a final boss that bothers me. Now it was still a good ending, but I was just hoping for a huge dude, like Jack in the first one.
Perhaps that's what we can expect with the next.. maybe they toned it down to make fable3 seem more climactic... . (( even though molyneux expressed he wanted to go as far as fable 6))

It was shallow and a bit boring, but still i liked it.

Yatzee is not a critic. Hes a comediant. Too bad most people think differently.
Well, I'd disagree with you to an extent. Many comedians have an annoying habit of conveying truths in their humour, which yahtzee does.

He doesn't review the games the same way a professional review does, but he does make key points.

And I've never played fable. :p

Long story short: Because Yahtzee didn't like it.

Fable was an awesome game, and anyone who says otherwise obviously hasn't played it.

That's my opinion, anyway.

...*Reveals super secret Fable Fan club member ship* Are you? (doesn't exist by the way, I would know by now).

And I really don't know, they might just be giant JRPG fans or only have extremely specific tastes in RPG's, other than that there is no real reason to hate Fable, It's like complaining that you ordered a chocolate milkshake and it tastes of chocolate.

And you know why I used that analogy? Because fucking everyone loves chocolate except that dickhead in the background who hates chocolate to be different.
I love that analogy.

Mind if I steal it?
Go for it, I put it on the internet so I lost the right to it, also try to use this one occasionally "It's like picking between getting stabbed in the left leg or the right leg, either way you still just got stabbed in the fucking leg" If you are trying to put hate on something (for instance in Twilight, book compared to movie I used this add on) "though admittedly one knife is serrated and covered in lemon juice...".

God I love putting shit on Twilight in front of hardcore fans.

I don't think he didn't like it (Fable 1 at least). If he didn't like it, he wouldn't finish it. It's just that Fable was interesting and fun yet had so many screw ups to take the piss out of, it made a perfect target for a rant.

i wouldn't bother its turning to a yahtzee hate thread than about fable =/

I played Fable before hearing about Yahtzee and have to say that I thought it was pretty boring. Probably a good enough game for young gamers looking for a way into the genre but for some reason can't get into a better game in the genre. Fable is a playable game that passes time.

Is reality really that crushing?
It's not reality. It's the fallacious argument of argumentum ad hominem. It's a dirty and underhanded tactic of changing the subject away from the actual topic and toward the person making the counter argument. It in no way addresses or refutes their points. It's a bad debate tactic. Do not do this.

A lot of high profile games attract unreasonable hate. Occasionally a thread will come up about "Worst Game Ever" and someone always nominates Halo 3, Grand Theft Auto IV, Fallout 3, Mario, Zelda or similar. It's absurd, but it always happens. I guess some people - probably a lot of Zero Punctuation fans - aren't comfortable letting something popular be just "ok" or "not my taste"; if it didn't thrill them it's utter garbage. There's usually a reason presented to justify slamming one of the most critically acclaimed games of the past few years as total crap, and it's usually totally trivial. One hyperventilating forumite justified calling Halo 3 the "worst game I've ever played" partly by saying that the guns in the game have a maximum firing distance beyond which bullets don't do any damage - which would have been a minuscule problem if it was even true, which it isn't.

The reason Fable 2 is hated so much is probably because it was expected to be as well done or even better than Fable/The Lost Chapters. And it didn't even come close. Also, F2 wasn't linked to the first one much either. And the ending................ Theresa says for most of the game she wants to destroy the Spire. In the end she gives you one of three crappy wishes and tells you to fuck off and that she owns the Spire. If you choose family (the "neutral" choice) then you get you dog back and your sister randomly comes back to life somewhere and all you get is a stupid letter from her. You never actually get to see her again (and alot of people will hate you). And the good/bad paths couldn't be crappier. In F2 if you dare to choose anything but the good choices people will act all "OMFG how could you". The truth is when playing a game and you are told to accept the fact that doing a good deed is the best reward of all, well it's total bullshit. Maybe in real life it is acceptable, but not in a game. So if you do choose the good path then you loose experience, look like a coward and get dramatically aged. People not liking you is a small price to pay to have a better time.

Basically, unless you have actually MADE a game for the xbox [or been a useful part of a team
that did, runners don't count] then i don't think you're really allowed to criticise people on something they can do a hellalotbetter than you could.
Don't push that plate of "you couldn't do any better" bullshit on us. Critisism still counts as feedback and if Lionhead Studios listens, their next game could be just what everyone wants.

And yes, just now I have concluded that this is a reply rant. I'm almost done.

The main reason I didn't like F2 was that after playing both good and evil in the first game (back when no matter what your alignment was you could still have good fun) i came to F2 expecting it to be as good, if not better and was dissapointed. It's still woth having (yes i bought the DLC which was quite good and will probably buy the next DLC) and i dont regret buying it. (Much)

Finally. End. Reply rant.
