Lets just say I'm strictly territorial - I see an insect on the way out of my apartment, I leave it alone. I see an insect coming in and its a whole different story, anything near the kitchen or bathroom dies. Anything foolish enough to climb over me or suck my blood dies. I mostly don't have issues with insects outdoors though.
So, would you have done the same?

Well... chances are if I don't kill it, it will end up being my midnight snack (not by choice obviously... -.-), so I tend to put the little bastards out of their misery.
Anywhere in the house I'll grab a kleenex, grab the spider with it and flush him down the drain. Spiders outside I leave alone, their business is their own out there.
If there's a chance to get it out of the house, I would.
Not because it's the right thing to do, I just don't like cleaning the mess after it's been flattened.

I kill them usually. Don't like anything small and venomous wandering around the house where it can try and bite me if I reach into any dark, concealed spaces. Especially not if they're one of these bastards investigating the place:
Only ever had 2 of them inside the houses I've lived in, and both times I didn't see them until after our dog had ripped their legs off and played with them like they were a toy. Miniature schnauzers can be quite vicious little things, sometimes.

I don't like to kill things, but spiders creep me right the heck out and my home is infested with them. If its just a daddy long leg I'll scoop it up on a piece of paper and put it outside, but anything else is getting squished with something heavy. Unless its flippin' huge, then I squeal like a little girl and stay far far away from it until someone else squishes it or it goes back to whatever nightmare it crawled out of.
Once, I threw something at this really big spider (trying to startle it into running away) and hundreds of little baby spiders swarmed from it.

I've been in this situation many times before. If someone is threatening to kill it, I'll usually take it outside and try and find somewhere where it could find some food and live out it's life. If no one is around or threatening to murder it. Well... I'll name it and tell it to keep the insects in check.

Depends on the spider. Most, I get something long, let them crawl on and fling them safely outside. But, this being Australia, there are a fair few species that I just kill on sight.

Yep. I like spiders. Mainly because they're predators of some insects that I truly hate (like flies and mosquitoes, which I tend to kill by the truckload in the summers).

If the spider is outside, I make a point not to kill it, even it it's LITERALLY right where I want to put my foot. I will move my foot and not kill it. The spider is in its territory, I should let it be.
If it's in my house, and in a place that I frequent (my room, my bathroom, kitchen), and it's within easy reach...Sorry, buddy, you're on my territory, I'm gonna squish you. It would do the same to me if our positions were reversed.
If it's in my home, but is just in a hallway, or waaaay up in a corner or something, I leave it alone. It's not infringing on my territory severely, so I let it be for the time being.

There's a spider in the corner of my room right now. Odds are good that I will crush it with the tome of Ciaphas Cain, simply because I cant sleep if I know the little bastards' eyes are watching me with their horrible unblinking arachnid gaze.
I....would have killed it. I have a very nasty case of arcanaphobia so I see the fuckers inside my house, they die. I don't want to be cruel, I don't have anything against them really and I generally don't like to hurt other creatures, especially for no needed gain, but...well...I can't help it. If someone else wants to take them out, I'll let them, but I won't touch it and it's not staying in my home. Same for scorpions.
As for other dangerous critters...well I haven't had this happen before (and I pray I never do) but I wouldn't kill a snake that had gotten lost in my house. I rather like snakes. They're pretty cool. I don't think I'd be brave enough to just reach out, grab it, and throw it outside, but I couldn't kill the scaley little guy or gal.
Also my mother and I have been known to sit on the porch and have racoons, skunks, and possums, walk up and eat dry cat food we've had sitting out. Not the most dangerous creatures in the world, but they can be and where most people might shoo them away, we shared space with them and talked to them. Though we weren't ever stupid enough to try and touch one.

seeing as how I dont like spiders and after a bit of research to see if I've ever seen one and not noticed before (I have not), and seeing it says it can actually be medically significant, the world would lose one more spider.
