Though practically every server has been reduced to horrid spam fests.

I'll be cheering (and fighting) for the sollies, but talented demomen are a little OP under the current mechanics, so I suspect they'll carry the day. I would like the unlockable to be a 'gag gift' of sorts, but I think it's more likely to be a third alternative to one of the existing slots -- probably melee. This is something Valve hasn't done before, but there's no logical reason they couldn't. It would also neatly skirt unbalancing worries.

EDIT: I would also like to see the scores statistically balanced against the pre-war numbers, but won't be holding my breath for that.

Even though this update is fun it is fracturing the community to some extent. I mean I'm finding people not helping out friendly soldiers if there engaged in battle with an enemy demo, (And Vice Versa) and freaking medics who have "declared allegiance" to one side and refusing to heal the other.

Yeah, sounds REAL fun. I think I'll stick with sniper, thanks.

Given Valve's reputation for balanced multiplayer in TF2, my gut inspiration tells me that this probably won't be an actual weapon, but a small, little "flavor" item much like the game's hats. After all, why would a game that prides itself on its multiplayer balance give one class a permanent advantage over another? Then again, I could be wrong.

Both pages talk about an exclusive weapon to the winners. That doesn't mean it wouldn't balance, it just means that Soldiers will have 4 weapons to kill with!!! ;-)

I feel really bad about anyone who wants to get some more time on their Engie this week, they arent going to last for a second.

I do however have a feeling that the soldier will win, when a solider and demo go 1 on 1 the soldier usually wins due to the fact that the rockets go strait, sure the demo can rush the guy but he's more built to destroy sentries. The soldier is made to destroy everything.

Now all i gotta do is get a gaming computer in the next week so i can play, sadly i dont think thats likely.
