Soldiers and Demomen Face Off in TF2 "WAR" Update

Hmm, interesting, this should result in more than enough interesting and funny flame wars. I'm going to support the demoman team, not because I usually play it (although I still do), but because I despise soldiers much more.

I do however have a feeling that the soldier will win, when a solider and demo go 1 on 1 the soldier usually wins due to the fact that the rockets go strait, sure the demo can rush the guy but he's more built to destroy sentries. The soldier is made to destroy everything.

Rushing sounds like the worst idea possible. Demos win duels by avoiding direct confrontation unless they already have a clear advantage. You your key advantages are greater speed, area denial, and the ability to fire at enemies who don't have line of sight to you. If you control your opponents approach and have done a chunk of damage to him before he even sees you, you have a much better chance of surviving the direct attack he will be trying to make. basically rushing is the exact opposite of what you should do.

Unless your idea of "rushing" involves flying across the map at an absurd speed and descending on your prey with a ready scotch bottle. In which case carry on.

I don't really like either of them, but the Demoman wins. I suck horribly with the Soldier, and I can at least get some kills with a Demo.

My favorite part is that they're giving one of the 2 most OP classes in the game an extra update weapon.
I think the demoman's going to win. It's so easy to get defender kills against soldiers.
Personally I've tried sabotaging the efforts of demomen, but that didn't work too well (but it was funny).

See quote above yours. If you're good and you're a pyro *pauses to admire self* then you are the best class in the game for whatever you want to do. Offense, defense, burning medics, grabbing briefcases, finding and removing spies, burning medics, destroying ubers, burning medics.. We're just awesome. Airblast means explosives and arrows won't hit you and can even hit the enemy if you're good. (best moment of TF2 life, hs'ing a sniper with his own arrow. )

Summing up, pyro's are awesome and every other class sucks. =P
