Wow....raging retards. How can you ban movies and music without banning video games?!?!? LMAO!!! music and video-less video games? What about sports based video games? Were those allowed before this ban? Honestly this article made me laugh. If I met Mr. Sheikh Mohamed Omar, I would be stuck between administering a point and laugh, or a good slap in the face.

With luck, instead of joining the fighting, they'll refuse the fighters' attempts to make them fight.
That would not be a good idea. There'd be that chance that resisting the law set by these militant groups would result in a bullet through the back of the skull.

Somalia, where did you go wrong?

Why does the world allow such ignorant, hate filled morons to live?
My thoughts precisely.

If I was the unquestioned dictator of the world I'd round up all these anti-gamer fucknuggets and have them executed.

Yet another reason to hate Islam, even if you somehow look past all the other bullshit like stoning accused infidels, murdering gays and jews, etc etc. How do you tolerate this?

I wonder how long it will be before Somalia implodes and descends into absolute chaos...
Hate to break it to you, but that already happened

a long time ago
To some extent, yes. Soon it'll be all-out war. Right now, there are a few people who haven't joined a militia. Hopefully, things will improve, but the truth of the matter is that no one can see that happening. Somalia is a time bomb, it gets closer to total destruction every month.

Lets send the Red Cross over and airdrop in 10,000 Gamecubes and Dreamcasts and the like, we're not using em, and the kids certainly enjoy them, and it's not like we can make the adults any MORE angry with the evil 'west'.

I'm really lost as to the conflict here, I'm assuming 'they' genuinely think they can convert the entire world to their way of thinking, right?

Because if that's not it, I suggest we just leave em to get on with it, or maybe go in under cover of darkness and remove every woman and child from the area, THEN leave them to get on with it. That's my main problem, how they treat the women and kids.

If that IS what they want, then there's no answer.

I think it's predictable; the government's trying to show people it's doing something while the pirates and various terrorists groups duke it out in the streets of the capital for supremecey.

If you have the money for videogames in Somalia, I'm sure you've got enough influence that this ban will mean nothing to you.

If you are one of the few unfortunate gamers with just enough means to play, I give you my condolences. However, you now have more time to spend concentrating on how to either A.) get everyone you know and love out of the country or B.) start a revolution that will create a more representative government- not that anyone will last long without a major player backing them.

For those of you who points this at Islam in general, please bear in mind this is a huge world religion we're talking about and there's probably a Christian group somewhere that's made an equivalent comment, although it lacks the power to impose these ideals upon others.

Also: Turkey is home to many of may favorite game developers; Mount & Blade was made there after all!
