I'm sure we're all familiar with star wars or atleast know of it. This game is made to be a fill in between episodes 3 and 4 which is the best place to go, pity it doesn't explain the sudden decrease in quality (har har crappy joke).
The gameplay in this game is great it has just what you would expect in a game for next gen consoles, the character plays fine however my greatest problem would be that the game sometimes seems to play catch up with you like if I was to use a combo which would involve force lightning and I pressed the attack button a few too many times the character would proceed with the combo then stop. shoot lightning. and carry on, this got annoying later on in the game when you found yourself standing in the middle of the area as two or three robot's fired missles at you. The engine's that Star Wars use in combination are great together however I found that the characters repeated death animations for more than 1 attack like, say I was attacking a few stormtroopers and one shot his weapon, I deflect it into his stomach I then use force lightning on another and they both stumble backwards shaking slightly and fall to the ground almost identically.
Graphics wise the game is good, the lightsabers are rendered nicely with just the right amount of colour added to make them look perfect, the detail in the enviroments was amazing and boss battles felt they had some realism as you rip the startship out of the sky or force pushed darth vader into a window.
The story in Star Wars is ,and I stress, tiny! It took me 8-9 hours,if that, to complete while many other games take me up to 10 atleast, this really brings the game down as it felt the game was only teasing your interest for another sequel, enter star wars IV, but once you've completed the challenges in the training room there isn't much to do other than to go and collect the Jedi Holocrons scattered over the levels.
The extras in this game are an awesome addition it gives the player a little extra control over the character, however there isn't too much point in them after you complete the story as you cannot keep a selected costume on while you play through it again unless you have the patience to wait for the agonizing 12-15 seconds for the game to load you at the nearest checkpoint with your new costume.
Overall Star Wars is a great game for the occasional gamer or a younger gamer with enough content to keep them entertained for a little while and with enough customization options to change the character to how they like. However the long loading time and sometimes like of veriety in levels will keep you away from it. I advise anyone who was interested in this to rent before you buy.
