First off, learn to spell.

First off, what's up with the internet harvard graduates? every single post i read has someone in the comments section telling someone else how horrible their spelling is or telling them they need to learn how to spell. No offense to you DigitalAtlas, i admit spelling mistakes are rather annoying and a chore to read through a sentence plagued by grammatical errors but you have to consider that not everyone speaks and writes fluent english. There are people from different countries and have their own languages, english might not be his first language.

-Don't be making "female" versions of brooding male characters...you know "female Squall" (Paine)...or "female Cloud" (Lightning). If you have problems with strong female characters...get some help from Joss Whedon :)

i agree with this,i think they admitted to wanting to make a female cloud and i have to say cloud is a generic jrpg character.

Honestly I think they need to get back some of their older talent who put work into their earlier games, and gives them strong control over it without executive meddling.

7's writer, Masato Kato (who also worked on the mana series and CHRONO TRIGGER) got sick of squeenix's crap and went freelance.

Yasumi Matsuno (FFT, and Tactics Ogre) also got sick of their crap to the point he jumped ship halfway in development on FF12

I just want an adult for a protagonist. It's not too much to ask as the majority of gamers seem to be adults now.

Having said that Squeenix make a fortune from people who will buy any crap as long as it has FF in the title.

Can we drop FF for a change of pace and make a next gen vagrant story now?
You sir....are my hero. For now ;)

Funny thing is...the ending of Vagrant Story allows for a sequel:

So if the story just begins...where is it? Damn you Squeenix make it already...preferably with Kingdom Hearts/ Dissidia style combat.

My only tip for Square Enix:
Square Enix, keep doing what you're doing. Although your games all have flaws of their own, I still enjoy your games and I will continue to support you as a company as long as you notice your faults and keep making fun games with characters that aren't half bad.

And yes, I did like the entire cast of Final Fantasy XIII. The worst one was probably Lightning because she was more of a ***** than anything, but all other members don't deserve the hate they get.
Not even Vanille? Not even a little bit? Really? She's easily the cookiest FF character in the history of cooky FF characters....and completely irrelevant to the story too.

Wait, are you implying that Vanille is actually a better written character than Lightning?

-Make a main character who isn't a whiny ***** (example: tidus i wanted to ***** slap him SO bad)
-Try to motivate the player to keep player interested (unlike in FFX-2 where your motivation is to get back the whiny *****)
-Dont make sequels to a final fantasy game (do we really need another run down corridors and auto battle ff?)
-Make some characters not total retards (oh no shes immortal that's terrible that must mean she's dead!)
-Leave out the J-Pop if so make it optional
-Good level up/magic system (materia was great and you really have no control in the abilities gained in FFX and FFXIII oh it gives the illusion of control but you end up with the same abilities
-Side Quests we miss them
-World Map we miss you
-Towns we miss you
-Make the story make sense
-Dont overdo the fan service there's already deviantart if so make it optional I shouldnt feel like a perv playin your game
-Make an old school (medieval) final fantasy (hell you could use the FFIX engine or snes style) and while you're at it who needs voice acting?
-Dont stop fan pojects (Chrono Ressuerrection) they help your sales not hurt them and people spent years of their life on this for you to say no right before the release date

She's is relevant to the story though, and I do like her better. She stops running away from her problems and learns to stnad up to them, and to be honest, I never hated the Aussie accent myself.

All of the characters were annoying at first, but after a few hours with them I really liked them. It's much easier to tolerate Snow and his hero speeches when you actually see him do heroic acts.

- I am playing a RPG, a J-RPG, but a RPG no less. Give me SOME choice, no, I am not talking about that karma system bullshit but the ones like the one in Final Fantasy VI where you could either let Shadow die or wait for him and have at your party, makes look like that the player has some impact on the game itself.

- Like I said, I am playing a RPG. Give shit to explore, I know that you did make a great job with the cutscene, but I don't want walk a fucking narrow corridor to one cutscene to the next one, if you don't want me to miss your goddamn precious little cutscene and the next piece of overlong story then mark where the next one is taking place on a map or something and let me search under rocks for the one piece of the Ultra Powerful Sword Side Questie Thing until I get tired of it and decide that it's time to advance in the story.

- I know that every hero start by being put on situation that sound impossible on first look and that was to grown up and became stronger and overcome the dangers that around him... But please this is not a excuse to put a winning little shit that never grown of his winning little shit mentality as the main character.

- It's not excuse to put someone who has NOTHING to do with to the main plot either... Vaan, I am looking at you.

- If you are making a girlish male character, then spare us from the freakshow and make a female character already!

- There's a lot of young and talented people around, start hiring them and fire that one guy that you love hype but that does not make a good game since the PSX era.

- You have a bunch of great franchises, give Final Fantasy a rest. Soul Blazer, Actraser, Chrono Series. Ever though of ressurect some of then?

- Make all your main characters female.
- Make all your main characters female. TRUST ME ON THIS.
- Make all your main characters female. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THE JOKE SUGGESTIONS, S-E.
I hate to break it to you, but:
-img-
They flubbed that one already.
Ah, see, I had those memories surgically destroyed back in 2004. Point taken.

Still, imagine how much worse it would be if that picture contained Snow, Hope and that third character whose name eludes me. They're going for an all-male party in Versus, and I worry it will turn out like that. Of course, Versus is without Toriyama's involvement (or it will be, when they actually start making the fucking thing), so maybe my worries are baseless.

Then again.. what if XIII's problems were the fault of the other writers as well as Toriyama? What if Nomura suffers a stroke? What if it really does turn out to be Snow, Hope and some tertiary guy for sixty hours? I would honestly rather play X-2.
I'm thinking of Versus as more of...well, that Romeo and Juliet film by Baz Luhrman. We have Romeo as more of a thoughtful, wimsical character. Mercutio as the playboy, fun-loving character and Benvolio as a big and strong yet caring kinda guy but with a fun loving attitude on top of that in Noctis and the other two guys he calls his friends. I'm probably wrong but that's how I'm imagining the characters to end up or at least start out.
