So some technician from PC doctor called me and is now installing some security on these error files we found. They aresaying they are calling all windows users but I'm sceptical.
Is this okay or should I be shitting a brick right now?
Help!
Btw: this is done off my iPod so they can't see me do it, I hope.

Did you ask them to do that? I don't think it's even possible to call ALL windows users, that's why they made UPDATES! So, hear him out and see what he is up to, ask about everything he does and why. Personally, I don't trust it.

*Edit: Just to be on the safe side: disconnect your modem and uninstall the software he put on your computer. See how professional he reacts to it, if he doesn't, you know he's a fake.

Verify Credentials.
Ask for a call back number and a number to reach a manager.
If you do not have an account with PC Doc they have no business on your computer.

Do you have PC doctor installed? That's probably the first step on deciding if you should be unplugging your computer RIGHT NOW or not.

So did you give him your remote desktop information so he could control your computer? If so, then you're probably an idiot without knowing more about him. Did you call him first to fix a problem, or did they call you out of the blue? Your OP needs a lot more explanation and clarification.

YOU FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS?! WHY! WHY IN GODS NAME!

Seriously hes calling everyone. Its a massive scam and your screwed. Some indian guy saying your sending error reports? Hang up on him. I dont know why you listened. If someone talks about your computer, you ask for, a company name, some indentification and if that isnt good enough, his supivisor.

I had the same call, i cant believe you trusted him. My friends all got it too.

Should do. Just remember never trust anyone who calls you first. Also, you CAN get away with being extremely racist down the phone to these douchebags. They are not in your country, they are trying to scam you, fuckers deserve it. Indian sounding cold callers dont call me anymore ^_^

10 to 1 says this is a failing effort, but did you make a proper set of boot disks or make a restore point disk? Those would be infinitely helpful.

Other than that, have you ever tried a Linux based OS? Haha just kidding. Also, install some GOOD anti malware, antivirus, and anti spyware software.

Hahahaha cool thanks man. And I wouldn't have fallen for it if there had been some mention of this scam on irish news but there wasn't.

Yeah, I too got a dodgy sounding message about calling all mircrosoft users. He asked me to do something with my windows key, and he couldn't get his head around the fact that I had disabled it. Alarm bells went off to be sure.
