Well I myself would have done a couple of format cycles to be sure, but you'll likely be fine.

I had some Indian person phone me up once with a similar story. They said they were doing so checks and discovered my PC was "having a viruses".

I demanded to know how they managed to check up on my private computer without my permission, then I told them it wasn't even connected to the Internet.

You could almost hear their carefully crafted script o' bullshit collapse over the phone. They just muttered something incomprehensible, apologised and rang off.

Sometimes if I'm bored or feeling mischevious and overly tolerant, I like to have a bit of fun with those Indian scammers.
I like to lead them on and fight bullshit with bullshit, like when I'm giving them my bank account details I just make up random and overly long account numbers (12-34-56 121212testing123 123456789), which change every time I have to repeat it.

One of the best times was when I had this excruciating cyclical conversation with one of them trying to sell me a mobile phone contract on the network 3 Mobile.

He offered me a 3 Mobile phone and I said I'd love a free mobile phone, but when he wanted my bank account details I said he wouldn't need them because it was a free mobile phone... he then agreed that it was a 3 Mobile phone but insisted it cost £30 a month. I said it isn't a free mobile phone if it costs £30 a month, but he insisted it was a 3 Mobile phone, so I said I'd love a free mobile phone, but he kept asking for £30, but I said I want a free mobile phone, which was he was also trying to sell me...

I kept that conversation going on (yet going nowhere) for a lot longer than should have been humanly possible.
