My guess: its from the MMO secret world, they've been sending some riddles like this to some other sites lately. I think there releasing a beta next week so that could be the data.

The Bacon Cipher sounds delicious.
Without a doubt the tastiest way of sending secret messages.

Probaqbly the most unhealthy way too, but that's irrelevent.

Got to be Fallout, the image on the screen is of a very large nucleus of an atom splitting into 2 daughter nuclei (ie. a nuclear explosion)

did the package arrive on april 3rd? if so then it's definitely The Secret World..... Kingsmouth day on the fake tourism site promoting a game area..... turning the dial on the tv set clears up the picture though whole thing about nuclear reactions, uranium not sure what a baseball field has to do with anything or Richard Wright for that matter.....

Anyone else reminded of the Portal 2 ARG by this? Not that I think the 2 are necessarily related.

You need look no further than our obsession with Professor Layton to know that we here at The Escapist love a good puzzle, so we were delightfully intrigued by the parcel with no return address that showed up this morning. It wasn't ticking, so clearly it hadn't come from one of you. We figured it was therefore safe to open and discovered that it contained a single item: a USB drive with a text file and an MP3.
If it were from one of us it might have been a pony. But I suppose we'll just have to keep all the poines for ourselves now, won't we?
Preeeeeetty sure a pony wouldn't have come in a package this small. Neither would cookies.

Not that you've sent me any, mind.
If you were to post your address here I'm sure you would get lots of, erm, ponies. Honest... :D

That's awesome. I really want to get excited for the new Fallout, but it looks so samey (to Fallout 3), but hey, I shall not judge this book by its cover.

Personally, I think this is some sad nerd with too much time on his hands deciding it would be fun to spend 2 weeks devising a pseudo-da vinci code to mess with some people's heads as an April Fools joke. I mean, has anyone ever heard of a video game company (or any company, for that matter) doing this? Then again, it is a good publicity stunt...
Or, since the image is of a nuclear reaction, it could be the harbinger of Armageddon itself. Who knows?
If anyone needs me next week, I'll be hiding under the bed.

That IS AWESOME!

I can't wait to see how this unfolds. I love a good puzzle that a whole network tries to figure out. Brings a decent sense of unity.

Assuming this was done for CoD like many people are speculating. Pretty f**king awesome publicity stunt.

Perhaps its the new Call of Duty game? Since it was sent to "high profile" CoD fans.

Still, very interesting...

Pretty cool idea. Great advertising and it's great how you can also basically get all the answers from google. Find out it's a cipher and a caesar quote so type in caesar cipher etc.

I love it when imaginative marketing like this is used.

I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but go to the site and check the TV set; there's a picture of late president John F. Kennedy. The television set itself seems to be from Kennedy's time as well, so we can assume that what ever game this is, it takes place in the 60s.

The fact that it was sent out to high profile Call Of Duty fans leads us to believe that it's a new CoD title.

Takes place in the 60s? Call Of Duty title?

I'm calling it now: Call Of Duty: Vietnam.

The only thing that doesn't add up is the Uranium/Nuclear weapon references... uh... re imagining of the Vietnam war?
Or maybe the game is expanding to fit the wider Cold War?
