My reason for being a console gamer isn't because PC gaming is too expensive. The problem is that I don't have enough money to begin with. I myself don't make much money (no job, I get $20.00 a week to do light cleaning around the apartment), so when my video card exploded I was forced to turn to consoles. I can still play games like Warcraft III and WoW, but I have to put them on minimum settings... I hate crappy replacement video cards.
I've always known that building a decent gaming PC wouldn't cost me any more than $1,000.00. However, because I don't have much money that seems like a lot (could make that much after 3 or 4 weeks at a part time job), and building one wouldn't be a problem (my dad has built every computer he has ever owned, including the ones he got for me). I just hope I'm able to get my system up and running in the next 2 months so that I can enjoy games like Starcraft 2, L4D2 (for the mod support, and simplicity of control), and when it comes out Diablo 3 (lots more than that, but those are ones I'm really looking forward to).
