Live and Let Die cover by Guns n' Roses (Axl's voice was tailored for this tune!)

Granted there isn't that much of a difference between the versions, I just like axl's voice better in this one.
I also like GNR's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" better.

That's an even better example than mine, actually. You sure have quite an exquisite taste of music, my good sir! (Or lady. Or being, human or not, of any gender or mix thereof)

Seems like these threads pop up about once a month or so and always have the same responses, so I'm gonna try and throw something new in the mix.

Original...
Cover...

If you've read World War Z, this is the song that was mentioned in the last few lines.

En Kungens Man is pretty popular for Swedish trallpunk bands to cover due to it's strong socialistic message. Prefer the covers more than the original. They're all great, but I'm a bit biased since I love the trallpunk genre.

Original(with lyrics, so non-Swedish speakers can understand it!)

Covers:
You link covers of En Kungens Man but you do not link Falconers cover of it. :<

I freaking love it. Though I do love Falconer a bit too much.

Olivia Olson's version of all I want for Christmas is You.... That's all I got. I don't listen to much music, I just happened to hear her version of the song and liked it a lot more than the original!
Original Olivia Olson's version

Winter Song, by Sara Bareilles, covered by Rob Halford
Gotta love Rob's unique singing.
Keeping with this theme...

Heart of a Lion, by Racer X, also covered by Halford

And last but not least, Delivering the Goods, by Judas Priest. Cover by Skid Row feat. Rob Halford

Johnny Hollow's cover of Nova Heart by The Spoons.
Fun fact coming from the Johnny Hollow FaceBook page: In the early 2000's, Johnny Hollow front lady, Janine White, was invited to tour as the keyboardist for the Canadian New Wave Group "The Spoons". They were one of the first bands to hit the New Wave Romantic Synth scenes in the 80's and had many hit songs that charted.

One of those hits was a song called "Nova Heart". Janine loved performing that song in particular which inspired JH to cover their own version of it for their album "Dirty Hands".

Also, Johnny Hollow's cover of People Are Strange by The Doors

In my opinion, both of the Johnny Hollow covers just have more soul into the song than the originals did. Though different time periods came with different sounds.

Rammstein's cover of Shtil(calm) by Soviet metal band Aria.
Till's deeper vocals and the band's heavier tone of the guitar is more suited to the depressive theme of the song. The original is fantastic, but Rammstein turned the awesome up to eleven.

Butch Walker's version of "Laid" is far better than James' version. Then again, anything Butch Walker does turns to gold, so it's not a really fair comparison.

I know all the cool kids are going to steal my lunchmoney for this... but I like a lot of the Glee covers better than the original. Especially their covers of "Sing" by My Chemical Romance, and "3" by Britney Spears

My favourite cover is actually a rare live cover by Devin Townsend, just after he left Steve Vai and before SYL he recorded this...

Firstly, Judas Priest actually contacted Townsend to see if he wanted to fill Halford's slot after they heard this but was later given to Tim Ripper Owens.
Secondly, This was when Devin's voice was in his prime, dude could hit a C6 like nobodies business at that time.
Third, not only is Dev sing but he is also playing lead and he fucking slays.

Also, Angry Inch by Type O Negative.
