With a Little Help From my Friends by Joe Cocker. Way more emotion. Also, it was the theme song for The Wonder Years. Seriously.
It's My Life by No Doubt.
Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead O'Connor.
Respect by Aretha Franklin.

Many more I'm probably not aware of.

^ Biffy Clyro's cover of Umbrella(Rihanna) is probably my favorite.

^ Their covers of Buddy Holly(Weezer) and Take Me Out(Franz Ferdinand) are great too.

Misfits cover of The Monster Mash AND probably the Deadsy version of Paint It Black :)
Just about any Paint it Black cover is better than the original. My picks though are The Agony Scene and Glenn Tipton solo release (yes, the Judas Priest guitarist).

I am currently unable to provide any video or audio, but I strongly recommend that you look dis shit up.
"Holy Diver" by kill.switch engage is much better than the one by Dio.

Check it out yo.
-there ya go.

I disagree, by the way. They did a good job (and made a hilarious video), but Ronnie James mothafuckin' Dio still did it better [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkysjcs5vFU], in my humble opinion.
You might change your mind if you see Killswitch perform it live. He gets into character and nothing breaks him from it. When I saw it he was mid song and someone threw a watter bottle at him and in Dio voice started yelling for the guards to find him and escort him out. It was hilarious.

Definitely Deep Purple's "Hush"

It was originally written by Joe South and played by Billy Joe Royal. The original is still great, but I think the Deep Purple version is groovier. Jon Lord's organ playing adds a whole lot to the sound.

Compare these three versions:

Hendrix version of 'All along the watchtower', original by Dylan.
Clash 'I fought the law', originally by Sonny and the Crickets.
Social distortion 'Under my thumb' by Rolling stones.

Just first few that popped to my mind.

CAKE covering I Will Survive. That was awesome.

And that's all I can think of at the moment.
