This is a Dr. Robotnik/Eggman or Metal Sonic stage. It's their point of view of building a weapon or Metal Sonic upgrading himself to kill and surpass Sonic.

With the way you hear the Sega Genesis bass line drop in the beginning, the Tenchi Muyo opening is a dead ringer for a Shinobi opening. Replace everything you see with a montage of Joe Musashi kicking ass, training, meditating and having deep introspection.

This feels like a lost song between Rez, Lumines, and Child of Eden. Or if Giffany had an image song, this would be it.

Anyway, Plaid's "Dang Spot" reminded me of high octane 16-bit 2D sidescrollers.
Which one or just in general? Because like I said before I got Battletoads and Donkey Kong Country vibes from your post a few weeks ago. And Earthworm Jim now that I think about it.

I was getting a Sonic vibe, but any of those you suggested work to.

Many of El Hazard's BGMs sounds like something from Panzer Dragoon or almost any RPG game on the Sega Saturn.

Seriously, it sucks El Hazard's 2 opening is shortened so much. The full version really sounds like a Panzer Dragoon game.

Don't know why this thread didn't immediately make me think of Sabrepulse when it was started 4 years ago, but yeah, anything by Sabrepulse should remind you of videogames. He started as "Sabrepulse" a couple of decades ago specifically to release his remixes of old videogame tunes.

This feels like a Space Channel 5 song. It also wouldn't be out of place in a Need for Speed game. Though that could just be Tokyo Drift talking. "Barracuda" is in the film and it was my first time ever hearing of it back in 2006. The song is from the 90s though. I get Dreamcast era game vibes too.

Life Is A Highway by Tom Cochrane reminds me of Sonic the Hedgehog. I can see a future Sonic movie using this song.

"I Was Gonna Be Good To You" would've work wonders in an Metal Gear or Ninja Gaiden movie made in the 1980s.
