I've read 32-ish million, with the 360 at around 37.iamq said:27 million? Weird...I think I read somewhere on IGN that the PS3 had sold 37 mill units...
We're part of Europe in terms of sales. But every now and then they break it down.Gitty101 said:Woopedy Doo. Shame Britain isn't a very large market in comparrison to the states or the whole of Europe. Don't get me wrong, I'm from Britain myself, but we're small potatoes in comparrison to other markets.
It will last six more years. But that's not to say that the PS4 won't come out in four years time. After all, the PS3 came out in the middle of the PS2's lifespan didn't it?SendMeNoodz84 said:Yeah, I'm sorry Sony. Maybe you can see the PS3 lasting six more years, but I definitely can't. I doubt I'm going to be even remotley interested in my PS3 in fucking 2016. Just admit it Sony, you lost the sales war. Now focus in making God of War 3 will you? If my PS3 gets any more dust on it I doubt it'll work in two months.
Only instead of Kratos you play as Wikus. "THOSE FOOKIN' GODS TOOK MY LIFE"mrx19869 said:go buy district 9 on blue rayCasual Shinji said:Well, that's nice Sony. Keep on trucking.

Yup, if you consider shitty sports games and PSP ports as a sort of lifespan at all. If anything the PS2 was put on life support when the PS3 came out. The PS2 being so popular, it recieved a shitload of visitors. Right up until its death when the PS3 Slim was released. In other words, no. I considered it dead when I opened my PS3 up and played Resistance.ChromeAlchemist said:We're part of Europe in terms of sales. But every now and then they break it down.Gitty101 said:Woopedy Doo. the odd part is the PS3 is still outselling the 360. it's sold more in less time, sure there's still a gap but it's growing smaller all the time.Logan Westbrook said:In terms of world wide sales, there's quite a gulf. The 360 has sold 39 million worldwide, and the Wii 56 million. But remember that the PS3 came out later than either of them, so a smaller install base is to be expected.sephiroth1991 said:I wonder how close it is to Xbox and Wii?
EDIT: I take it back. I had it in my head that the Wii came out at the end of 2005, not 2006. That said, the Wii's sales are unusually high for a console.
This implies that in the next generation (if it even comes) whatever Microsoft's next console is will still be using DVDs. I doubt it.cleverlymadeup said:the odd part is the PS3 is still outselling the 360. it's sold more in less time, sure there's still a gap but it's growing smaller all the time.Logan Westbrook said:In terms of world wide sales, there's quite a gulf. i can see them surpassing the 360 soon enough. give the games until the next generation, ie when more games have issues fitting on one dvd.
IF it uses blu-ray it will owe money to sony and whoever else was joint-ventured into blu-ray.AceDiamond said:This implies that in the next generation (if it even comes) whatever Microsoft's next console is will still be using DVDs. Me too. I think it was VG chartz although I don't know how credible that is. The 27 was likely before the holidays I guess.JediMB said:I've read 32-ish million, with the 360 at around 37.
