Sony Working on More HD PS2 Collections

This will be great. The PS2 had all the best games by far. Alot of them were much better than most of what comes out now. I will be pissed off if they start remaking single games. Because it will never end then, as there are thousands of PS2 games, if it sticks to collections I'll be happy. If they release Jak and Daxter collection, I'll be very happy.

I really hope they don't remake GTA, MGS or Rachet and Clank (Just a few examples that have been mentioned). There is no point in remakeing the old gen. games in HD if they are still making the series on current gen consoles. Especially if little changes in gameplay (Cough*Rachet and Clank*Cough).

Only game I really want to get an HD remake of is Fantavision. I thought the game looked sweet on the PS2 and with an HD remake... I think I'd jizz on my screen with out gorgeous the graphics would look. Other than that, I gotta agree with everybody else on here.

yeah... buy the PC version GTA 3, Vice City or San Andreas TODAY for about $10 and just set to maximum settings.

That REALLY IS all that these "remastered" consoles games are, just PS2 games running at PC standards. Years before the God Of War Collection came out for PS3, on PC you could get the exact same thing running the game on PS2-emulators and turning up the graphics (no it is not piracy, you need the original disc to run these emulators).

Why are SOME people so antagonistic to PC? An open, inclusive and strings-free gaming platform, I can guarantee almost every single person on this forum has capability to take advantage of as generally people view websites on computer's web-browser programs.

I like console gaming, it makes for nice discrete and tailored experiences where the emphasis is firmly AWAY from graphics or to take advantage of the unique hardware setup the console may have.

They didn't fully drop it, PS1 games work perfectly still.
Having a PS2-playing-PS3, I can say that the emulation is bad. R&C:Up Your Arsenal had some framerate issues, even during cutscenes (the audio would gradually get further and further out of sync with the video, a short cutscene could get 30 seconds out of sync). A few games I tried worked fine, but none ran as good as they did on the PS2. Sony taking away PS2 compatibility seems bad to those that never used it. Once you've seen how bad it can be, you'll understand why they removed that feature.

Ratchet and Clank series and Team Ico's games are the only ones I'm interested at this point.

i doubt they'll be a ratchet and clank collection, since the series is on going.

Only pre-Tools of Destruction games.

but the series is on going, so why would they do re makes when they can do sequels?

god of war was more of a test bed, so it doesn't count. games like sly and ico who have yet to produce sequels are much better canadates.

Ratchet and Clank go through different series, for example A Crack in Time finished it's "future trilogy", thus I'm referring to the original series.

Maybe they should make a Silent Hill collection? I know many people missed it.
Then again I still have all my PS2 & PS1 games, and my PS2 from when they were first released still works (most of the time). It would be good to play some on the PS3 though, especially the Sly Raccoon series hehe :3

I never had too many issues with PS2 playback on my PS3, and for what few there were, I'd rather see them try and perfect the emulation.

If I get over the idea of paying for things a second time, I still have issues here, particularly over what we get. the GOW collection looked nice and had trophies, but that wasn't worth the cost. Compare that to when I bought Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistance after already owning MGS3: it had new material, including two new games. That was worth the cash.

If Sony or any company does this, don't go the cheap route. Give those of us that own these games incentive to buy them again.

Personally I'm hoping they bring back the SSX series for the PS3. It's one of the few games I can actually get my wife to play. To see it with a graphics update would be fantastic.

But the man's correct. Graphics will always be better on a PC simply due to how much more powerful PC's can be by upgrading their hardware. The PC will always be one generation ahead of the consoles.

Also, the man was talking about backwards compatibility and how Sony removed it only to re-do a lot of PS2 games and sell them again. He also stated that there's no reason to buy any of these remastered editions giving that you can get the same quality by simply purchasing the game for your PC. In no way did he imply that the PC is "the master race".

You don't seem to gasp the concept of troll. A troll is someone who states something blatantly offensive(like "all black people are niggers and should be sent back to Africa!")in order to evoke an emotional response. In no way is a troll someone who states the blatant truth or has an opinion different than yours express with arguments backing that opinion up.
