Not only are PS3 games expensive to make, they are also currently the hardest to program.

Doesn't seem like a profitable venture since PS3 owners (or, indeed, actual gamers of any type) have no interest in low-quality motion-control BS.
That's why Wii's are owned by kids, old people, and teenage girls.
You had best be joking about that last part.

Which last part?

The part where I denounce the Wii as little more than a gimmick that's really only seen as entertaining by little kids and wholesome families? Poor graphics and cheap, gimmicky games do not a console generation make. (And do not mention No More Heroes or Muramasa to me. Every rule has an exception.)

Or is it the part where I mention that serious gamers have little time or patience for the aforementioned puerility? Dodgy controls and kids games have little place on the PS3 market. Let us not forget games like Lair and Heavenly Sword. We all see how well the motion control worked out for those.

eh, so much negativity.
I'm kind of excited about sony's new motion controller although I think they could have chosen a better game to show than golf...and ping pong as it just looks very wii-ish of course.

either way sony.....suprise me ;P

It's hard enough just setting up Quake/UT controls on GlovePIE. I hope that if I get onto the course I want to at Uni, I don't have to develop for the Wii...
You probably won't. We were idiots and chose to use the Wii of our own volition; in fact, we had to go well out of our way to get the plugin in order to do it. Interesting experiment, poor idea for a portfolio piece. Unless your classmates decide to do it and you can't stop them, I think you're in the clear. Otherwise, the biggest problem with it is that the bluetooth connection is incredibly wonky unless it's keyed to a specific machine or something. The Wiimote will try to connect to EVERY COMPUTER IN THE FUCKING LAB otherwise, and it'll take you a half an hour or more just to connect to your computer in order to test out the damned controls. Just one of the reasons that the school shouldn't REQUIRE you to do it...

Well, not sure what the course consists of exactly, because I can only look at University courses that start in 2010, and I'll be starting (hopefully) in 2011, and the course can change.

I just want to know why is has a red light bulb on top.

What's if for? hailing a hooker-cab? Guiding a plane onto an aircraft carrier at night?
The idea of hailing a hooker-cab has just given me a good laugh, thank you. Ironically I can think of far more crude jokes about a controller looking like that.

I'm not going to dismiss the Move as a gimmick just yet, but I don't think I'll be getting one at launch anyway. I would be quite interested to find out just what games they plan to have for it though.
