(I feel) you spent to much time focusing on how good the front cover was, and how good the art was on the main screen, which although should be a part of the review, DOES NOT NEED A WHOLE PARAGRAPH!
I felt the paragraph helped set the tone of the review and described the perspective from which the reviewer approached the subject matter.

I enjoyed the review and felt that if I were new to the game, it would have been very helpful and I may have even rented it. The style of your review was different and managed to be entertaining while remaining objective(from the perspective you laid out initially). I've laid many hours upon the altars of Soul Calibur & Soul Calibur 2 and I would label your conclusion as a very accurate description of the series.

You mention, briefly, that the optional game modes are pointless and have no impact on game play. As a reader of this review, I'm curious what some of these modes may be and why they are pointless. Perhaps this sort of critique could be expounded upon next time.

I'm pretty new to the forums and the User Reviews section is what sold me on signing up. I look forward to more reviews from you, Mr Companion.

To be honest I think this game is better than SC 2. Mainly because I'm a Kilik playing ***** who will kick your ass with 3-4 moves and Kilik was just better to play with in SC 3 than in the second part. He is worse in the fourth part but then again number four kinda sucked.

The inclusion of the real time strategy mini-game was pretty bad because it did not fit correctly with what the Soul Calibur series is all about (mindless fighting with a small but flexible story.). The character creation system was good, in my opinion, because of the amount of options available. The Challenge mode was fun sometimes, but it was mostly annoying due to the aggressive AI. The secret boss had an obnoxious objective (don't lose a match in story mode, VERY difficult because of the AI) and the boss was tough too (knocked chuns off your health bar and you could not win by ring out.). They also took out the Weapon Gallery feature which used to blow some steam if I felt I was performing badly. The arcade feature was hidden, you had to go into Challenge mode and choose Quick Play, and the quick time events at certain points were grating. But it is still fun with friends...........
