I already made a topic about spin-offs nobody asked for, but were good regardless.[footnote]http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.944618-Spin-offs-aimed-at-children[/footnote]
Let's talk about spin-offs we actually want to see:
Lego + Minecraft: I mean, how has nobody thought of that? A Lego world you can craft Minecraft-style, Dragon Quest Builders was made with little to no protest so it's not like there's anything legal stopping them. Yeah, Lego has building limitations, but it more than makes up with variety.
Doom 3: More of it: There's already a topic of that in here, but with the success of DOOM, a lot of untapped potential in Doom 3 is going to remain untapped unless they do a spin-off that does deliver for those who want.
Phoenix Wright: Dick Gumshoe: As a visual novel, these games are fairly limited in terms of diverging from the stabilished plot, so why not one of those VR demos like Arkham VR where you get to inspect a crime scene and deliver information in real time to a case already in progress.
Dark Souls-ish games: I am cheating here because FromSoftware said they wouldn't do this series anymore, so something should fill in the gap, more specifically I am thinking of: Castlevania in 3D with the delayed whip and the enemy placement, that's a Dark Souls game in the making; Quest 64's only great idea was the leveling system that levels up your attack as you frequently attack, your defense as you get attacked, your Sp. Atk as you cast spells, etc. a more challenging gameplay would greatly enhance this; Ninja Gaiden could also learn a thing or two from Bloodborne.
Elder Scrolls Travels: They already exist in the form of a trilogy released for cell phones and a console nobody bought, sadly Bethesda refuses to be a team player into remaking these, games people would pay money for, because it's Elder Scrolls. But since it's taking fan motivation to remake Morrowind, we'll have to wait for even more dedicated fans to remember and want to remake those.
Metroid vs. ________: The Metroid and Alien franchises have always gone hand-in-hand, but I wonder why a Metroid adaptation of Alien vs. Predator was never even considered, being able to play as something other than Samus while hunting Metroids or even playing as Metroids themselves is too crazy to not work.
Anything Zelda/Halo: Zelda has those weird DS spin-offs and Halo had titles cancelled left and right: Halo DS, a Halo MMO, the episodic Halo: Chronicles and more recently that weird Mega Bloks crossover.[footnote]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZB8d11d9go[/footnote]
