Spin-offs YOU want to see

I already made a topic about spin-offs nobody asked for, but were good regardless.[footnote]http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.944618-Spin-offs-aimed-at-children[/footnote]

Let's talk about spin-offs we actually want to see:

Lego + Minecraft: I mean, how has nobody thought of that? A Lego world you can craft Minecraft-style, Dragon Quest Builders was made with little to no protest so it's not like there's anything legal stopping them. Yeah, Lego has building limitations, but it more than makes up with variety.

Doom 3: More of it: There's already a topic of that in here, but with the success of DOOM, a lot of untapped potential in Doom 3 is going to remain untapped unless they do a spin-off that does deliver for those who want.

Phoenix Wright: Dick Gumshoe: As a visual novel, these games are fairly limited in terms of diverging from the stabilished plot, so why not one of those VR demos like Arkham VR where you get to inspect a crime scene and deliver information in real time to a case already in progress.

Dark Souls-ish games: I am cheating here because FromSoftware said they wouldn't do this series anymore, so something should fill in the gap, more specifically I am thinking of: Castlevania in 3D with the delayed whip and the enemy placement, that's a Dark Souls game in the making; Quest 64's only great idea was the leveling system that levels up your attack as you frequently attack, your defense as you get attacked, your Sp. Atk as you cast spells, etc. a more challenging gameplay would greatly enhance this; Ninja Gaiden could also learn a thing or two from Bloodborne.

Elder Scrolls Travels: They already exist in the form of a trilogy released for cell phones and a console nobody bought, sadly Bethesda refuses to be a team player into remaking these, games people would pay money for, because it's Elder Scrolls. But since it's taking fan motivation to remake Morrowind, we'll have to wait for even more dedicated fans to remember and want to remake those.

Metroid vs. ________: The Metroid and Alien franchises have always gone hand-in-hand, but I wonder why a Metroid adaptation of Alien vs. Predator was never even considered, being able to play as something other than Samus while hunting Metroids or even playing as Metroids themselves is too crazy to not work.

Anything Zelda/Halo: Zelda has those weird DS spin-offs and Halo had titles cancelled left and right: Halo DS, a Halo MMO, the episodic Halo: Chronicles and more recently that weird Mega Bloks crossover.[footnote]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZB8d11d9go[/footnote]

A prequel to FF6 that shows that fancy Magi War.
It's wierd. I remember years ago seeing something on the net hinting that there was something like that being made. I honestly can't remember if it was a fan game or an aborted spin off in the wake of FFVII's spinoffpolooza. Or I might have dreamed it.

Considering I've seen nothing of it since then, it might as well have been a figment of my imagination.

I would absolutely love a Warhammer 40,000 version of Blood Bowl.

It would give some potential to feature the lesser known factions, groups and units of 40K, like Necromunda gangs and such.

I want a Sim City game but for Bioshock. Rapture and Columbia. Who doesn't want a sky city or ocean city?! I gotta' get Fontaine's Fishery up and running if I'm gonna turn a profit!

Oh, an Assassin's Creed 40k. You're a...Vindicare or Callidus assassin on a Hive World and you have to kill the corrupt planetary Governor and ruling council before the Retribution fleet arrives. And the Charnel Guard are leading the fleet, and they're just as likely to blow up the planet as they are purge everyone for allowing corruption in the first place.

And there are Chaos Mutants in the underhive and a rebellion led by a charismatic preacher who might be a new Imperial Saint.

And you have to strike a balance between purging enough corrupt leaders and not completely destabilizing the Government and fostering a Rebellion, which you can achieve by blackmail, assassination, set ups, staged events, etc...And you have to find out the truth about the Preacher, and aid the local Arbitors in stopping a summoning ritual by the Chaos mutants as well as catching various thieves and criminals and the like, and maybe depending on which Assassin you chose to play, the other one is an Ally NPC you can call in for support.

And would it kill TellTale to make more Strong Bad's Cool Game 4 Attractive People?!

Are you peraphs perhaps talking about the iOS ports of FFV and FFVI?

OR this http://www.rpgamer.com/games/ff/affw/ffsgi.html , a FF demo for the N64 that was just that, a series of cutscenes that would later turn into FFVII, it was before Square ditched the N64.

The only other thing I heard was the possibility of a FFVI remake after the announcement of the remake of FFVII, the director said he wanted to do it.

A prequel to Final Fantasy X, but not the overused boring one everyone always suggests with Braska, Auron and Jecht. Instead, one set in the Machina War between Bevelle and Zanarkand, with Yunalesca and Zaon as playable characters among others, showing Yu Yevon's gradual descent into madness as his beloved country is overrun by Bevelle's invaders. I wrote a few chapters of this story already including new Ronso and Guado characters.

Castlevania: Heirs, a strategy game where you are a vampire gathering undead minions to try and seize Dracula's throne after his most recent demise. Battles would take place on a 2D plane in large chambers in various areas of the castle, with the opposing armies starting out on either side and acting on the same simple AI behaviours from the original games, with the goal to secure each room and gain the souls of the monsters within. Of course, we know this is never going to happen.

A real-time combat flight game a la Star Fox in the Bahamut Lagoon world, only with the dragons having their own personalities to bond with their riders whenever they're not out on missions burninating their enemies.

I've kind of always wanted to know what happened to the sniper teams from Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2. For those that don't know:

In Modern Warfare, when you're storming the missile complex, American snipers show up and provide cover. If you turn the corner around a cargo container, an enemy jumps out but is immediately gunned down and you hear over the radio, "This is sniper team 2, we've got your back."
Yet, as we know, the end of Modern Warfare doesn't exactly go...well for the incursion team. But we see no sign of the snipers. Did they hide out in the woods and escape later, or what?

Same thing in Modern Warfare 2. When Ghost, Roach, Ozone, and Scarecrow assault the house, Toad and Archer stay outside and provide cover. Once things--again--go south at the end of the mission, they're both still alive. And they had to have seen what happened. So where did they go? Personally, I was kind of hoping Modern Warfare 3 would have its tutorial level based on these two. You have to learn the basics of the game while running from Shadow Company instead of doing a cardboard training run like most.
And don't tell me it would have been pointless to bring them back, because they brought back Wallcroft and Griffin.

Or playing as Samus hunting the Xenomorphs.

My favorite tabletop RPG is Deadlands. Last year I picked up a game on Steam called Hard West that is as close to Deadlands in video game form as I have ever seen. It's actually a pretty fun iso-style western. But I want to see flat out just a Deadlands video game. Iso style works although I think a fallout/elder scrolls style engine would be good for it as well.

But as far as a spin off... I just want to see a new game utilizing the Nemesis system from Shadow of Mordor. I can think of a half dozen ways in several different video game genres that featuring procedurally generated, evolving mini-bosses with ongoing rivalries would make for an amazing game.

Well, since Nintendo took my suggestion for a Dynasty Warriors-esque Fire Emblem game (coincidence? What's that), I guess I can play again. Because this isn't the first time this kind of thread has popped up, so I'll just throw up my old suggestions, and elaborate on them if need be.

So, with that said:

-A Call of Duty-styled game taking place in Strangereal (the primary setting of Ace Combat)

-An Army Men game with the gameplay of Gears of War

-A Blackthorne game in the style of Duke Nukem (style as in tone, irreverance, etc.)

-Castlevania/Diablo game(s) in the style of Dark Souls

-A Doom spin-off in the style of Doom 3 (because a spin-off is pretty much all I can hope for in this case)

-A Gears of War game in the style of X-COM

-A Halo game in the style of Homeworld (or any other space-combat sim)

-A singleplayer League of Legends/Overwatch game(s) (same principle - way of expressing the lore through a traditional narrative)

-A Perfect Dark game in the style of Deus Ex

-A StarCraft game in the style of Mass Effect

-A Star Fox game in the style of Rogue Squadron

-A Warcraft game in the style of Dragon Age

A lot of these are ideas I'm shouting out without having ever played them (e.g. never played Dragon Age, but I'd love a single-player Warcraft RPG, since it's unlikely we're going to get Warcraft IV anytime soon), but based on what others have said:

I'd second the spin-off, but I doubt it'll happen. I have a feeling that iD doesn't want to deviate from the tone/identity of Doom 2016.

Which sucks. :(

Because Castlevania 64 was received so well ;p

I kid, only Castlevania game I've played is Bloodlines. But I do like this idea - Castlevania is a bit of a weird series from my eyes, in that it's tapping into the likes of the Dracula mythos, but has a styalized method of presentation. A more Gothic Castlevania could be nice.

Fun fact, I never would have thought Metroid took inspiration from Alien if not for people making the connections or it being outright stated from the developers.

Anyway, I could see this working if one took the reigns of another bounty hunter, with Predator-esque gameplay. No idea about playing as a metroid though.

They wouldn't happen to be named "sniper team 4" would they? ^_^

Street Fighter Alpha 4, with HD sprites. Since Street Fighter now uses 3D models in it's mainline games, it'd be nice to see a 2D one again, provided smooth animation is assured.
