He's an old dude whose understanding of video games ends with Pac-man Fever. Has he ever complained that one of his movie roles was too violent?

Crap the guy was in Total Recall for fudge sake, anyone remember the blood and boob fest that was!???

Unless you count Sea Quest DSV, I don't think he has had a passive non aggressive role?

Well I'll be damned.

Huh. I wouldn't call Splinter Cell a terribly violent game series.... a good deal of the "unpleasantness" isn't seen in the game. I've never actually seen Sam stab captives in the interrogation sequences... That came after if I was in a bad mood or the ROE changed! lol

Still, I'm glad he's found a new liking for the role.
Fisher wouldn't be Fisher without Ironside's gravelly tones :)

Also- I creamed my jeans when I saw Conviction on the coming soon list.
Pre-order here I come! :D

Ha. I see what you did there.

OT: He thought it would be like PONG? Is the first Splinter Cell that old to be associated with pong?

He may not like violence but he certainly doesn't have that big a problem with it. Especially when big bags of money are involved. Look at his past work lol.

Well like Ted Dibiase says "Everybody's got a price" and this situation makes it all the more true. But despite his ignorance towards video games i can forgive him slightly for giving a damn good voice to a memorable character.

This reminds me of when Matt Damon didn't want to do Mo-cap and VO for the Jason Bourne game because he doesn't like violence.

I believe that there's your definition of "Irony"
Wow, that pun was physically painful...

In all honesty, this doesn't surprise me that much though.

This is kind of a sad article. Not because I don't agree about the violence thing, but because he abandoned his morals in the first place for money.
Morals don't pay the bills, I hate the capitalist system but I still go to work and pay my taxes so I can afford to buy you know food, pay the rent, etc.

The only people who can let their moral guide them are the ones who don't have to worry about money, either wealthy or without responsibilities, by that I mean say a priest doesn't have a family to feed, he can stand by his moral convictions and starve if he wants, I couldn't do that to my family who need me to bring home the rent money.

But it wasn't a life/death situation. He just wanted the money.

He is fairly well known but he isn't exactly an A list actor with tens of millions in the bank, he might have a nice house, a nice car, and a nice life style, but turning down jobs that will cover the cost of a new car or maybe your living expenses for a year? not going to happen.

When you've got a family you just don't pull shit like that.

I suppose. Still kinda despressing though. That's why I'm a socialist.
