SquareEnix is not squaresoft. The creator of Final Fantasy started his own company called MistWalker which helped make Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey which were great. MistWalker is the new squaresoft, squareEnix is just another crappy branch of enix which is designed to make money, not quality, just like activision works. They don't care about creating something new or trying to improve an old formula, they just stick the name final fantasy on something and hope to take all the cash out of your pockets. Im sorry, but i've tried many different mmo's, both f2p and p2p. Final Fantasy 14 is one of the worst games i've ever played.
The xp punishment system in ff11 put me off, but the way they punish you in this game is retarded as heck. You have to stop playing your favorite class in order to switch to another class which takes forever to do without a macro. After about an hour or less of play, I just did everything there is to do. Now I get to use the crafting system which is confusing as heck, and gives random results, oh great. I also have to rely on other players to get materials to create equipment which is difficult to do with the non-functioning chat system they have and the fact that there is no auction house(the retainer system is retarded.) The menu system is slow as heck, this game is mind boggling. Now I know why all that weird porn comes from japan, they love punishment.
Dammit SquareEnix, just copy wow's mechanics and put it into the final fantasy realm. Here are your classes; Berserker(Cloud,Sabin,Sephiroth,Kain), Gunner/Gunblader (Irving,Squall,Barret,Edgar) RuneKnight(Celes, Kefka, Gogo, kuja) Mage(Vivi, Terra, Strago, Gau) Thief(Locke,Shadow,Setzer).
The names in parentheses is just for clothing and class examples. Now, the classes can have subclasses like the talents in wow. You can put points in gunner skills and play and dress like Barret or gunblade points and play like squall, be a paladin and tank(Cecil), or be a swordfighter(Sephiroth, cloud),Dragon Knight(Kain)... etc.
Imagine playing as setzer and having dice for weapons, that would be cool.
You know what, lets get some designers and programmers together and make this game ourself. We just call it, "The Last Fantasy" and rename any references to final fantasy. (Cloud/Nebulas, Sephiroth/Lucificous, Kuja/Jarul, Terra/Ird, Kefka/GayClownMan pronounced GaeeCloman).
