I don't know, it reminds me of Advent Children, which as you all well know is not a good thing.

It's seems that there's some actual control in the combat this time at least.

I'm actually glad Square Enix has given up on JRPGs since they've largely murdered the genre for consoles, them moving more towards a Devil May Cry knock-off with the Final Fantasy Cocaine Bucket writing and aesthetics could actually work. And yet all this time i was horribly distracted by the fact that the trailer looked a lot like my stupid friend trying to play Devil May Cry 3 in Trickster mode. Ne can't perform any sword combos, is leaping all over the place for no rhyme or reason and he can't hit anything.

Anyway that said even if it doesn't look that bad, i'm not buying it until the dust settles, if i buy it at all. I'm not quite prepared to forgive Square Enix for Final Fantasy X. Or XII. Or XIII. Or XIII-2. Or XIV. Or XIV's new content. Or Dragon Quest X. Or--
HOW IS THE STUDIO EVEN STILL AFLOAT?!

Seems FF is moving closer and closer to being a pure action game with RPG elements. This isn't a bad thing; KH anyone? Made right I'll have complaints, just don't want some auto pilot game where I have no input on what happens on screen. Nor do I want narrow areas mapped out. Exploration and discovery should be important. Hope that's not asking too much, but seems XIII wasn't liked for those very same reasons.

The combat reminds me of Kingdom Hearts. I'm not impressed.

This is one Final Fantasy game I'm not going to bother pre-ordering, I think.

Besides, after Final Fantasy XIII, I think I'll wait to read actual reviews rather than rely on "gameplay trailers".
