That looks interesting especially since it apparently is literally 2d which means no side movement like in streets of rage. I wonder if it makes the game harder or easier.
Depends on which android your playing as Raiden is definitely the hardest to use if you're going solo. It's best you know the combat system by that point and doing co-op with someone. The game is easy almost easy when playing as someone like Ninja (my second favorite of the group) or Kunoichi. The former may be slow, but powerful, but has some of the strongest grabs, and one best dashes in the game. It makes up for his slow walk and lack air combos so much, that his flaws are barely that big of a deal. Also, blocking is a huge godsend and will be your best friends. What's more, there are hidden moves the game nor intsruction manual tell you (unless you played the SNES), until you figure it out for yourself or check a move list guide. Or the game wiki.
What does make the game harder is that you only get one life, but unlimited continues. The downside being your overall time won't be recorded unless you do a 1cc run. There are leaderboards for speed running. Why Natsume decided to get rid of the score system is beyond me? It was a dumb idea. They should have made a score attack mode, a time trial mode, and a boss rush mode. These would have gave the game a bit more longevity.
