It wasn't something I was taught as much as I just found it was a faster way to get up from certain positions. Its a good method for getting into and out of the cross legged position that my Kung Fu instructor had the class sit in while he lectured on new forms or when we were meditating.ThingWhatSqueaks said:What martial art? I would give preference to the stand and base method of standing back up as it puts a bit more distance between oneself and ones opponent and does so without crossing ones legs while also putting one in a position to protect oneself from possible kicks to the head.Darks63 said:I've been doing that for years it was the best way to sit/stand up in martial arts classes.
