wow, they're really playing with fire...Buffy has a pretty hardcore fanbase. Of course, so does Star Trek and that reboot not only made the Trekkies happy but also sucked a lot of newbies into the genre. So I guess you never know.

This is not gunna end well i get trying to make buffy abit more realistic and not having sarah play buffy but without any involvement from a certain Joss Whedon.Who made and shaped the whole buffy/angel verse this is going to be terrible.

The only hope i have is it might be a sign of returning the pre twilight vampires who would burn in sunlight and more likely to rip the throat out of mortals than try to date them

NO! It will ruin it.

BUT, we do need a vampire film.. yano, about blood sucking killing vampires and a slayer. Shame Blade is in jail.

Buffy dialogue is never going to not sound cheesy, I can't believe the whole internet is losing their sh*t over this when two clearly talented producers are behind it.

A Buffy reboot. File that in the "Bad Ideas" drawer.

A Buffy reboot without Joss Whedon. File that in the "Ideas So Bad They Don't Even Belong In The 'Bad Ideas' Drawer" drawer.

Buffy the series was amazingly fun. I do not approve of anything taking it's name unless it's got the same creative crew and minor cameos from the cast.

Oooohohoh can we get eye-patch Xander to be the grizzled military leader of a unit of slayers!?

That tears it. I'm writing an AU fan comic. It's a hard sci-fi reimagining of the Slayer mythos, with the Peter Watts vampires [http://www.rifters.com/blindsight/vampires.htm], and the Slayer as a half-caste who gets the powers but still has the conscience.

It'll make about as much sense as this.

I concur, this is just a really, REALLY bad idea.

On a side note..ahem...Bunnies aren't as cute as everyone supposes! They got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses, and what's with all the carrots? Why do they need such good eyesight for anyway?! Bunnies, Bunnies, it must be BUNNIES!!...or maybe midgets...

With this evidence I conclude that a coalition of bunnies, midgets, and midget bunnies are responsible for this horrible reboot of terror.

GAH, i mean come on angels side its pretty much over and if they do make a new series the Apocalypse is already here, there is no way in hell she would be able to even stand against what was released in the last angel series. i mean come on.... they flooded the earth with monsters for crying out loud, if there just going to casually ignore that one well...

unless im missing something.

They continued that arc in the comics. I haven't read it but it got mixed reviews from what I read.

I thought best episodes were the funny and inventive ones. When you try to take Buffy seriously, it falls apart as in season 6.

A Buffy without humor is just a riff on Blade.

I'm not sure the concept of Buffy can be made to be taken too seriously. According to Whedon himself, the whole idea of the franchise was turning the (once) common horror movie cliche of the pathetically helpless blonde girl upside down. As a commentary, it should never be taken seriously beyond a certain point. The television series had a good balance, but beyond that and it would just seem forced. Her name is 'Buffy' - how seriously can it really be meant to be taken? If they want darker and grittier, they should remake Innocent Blood or something like that.

First off, I am a fan of the Buffy-verse. Secondly, I'm gonna wait for more details before I call this one a disaster. Thirdly, this is gonna be a disaster.
