No! The Star Trek computer is the one you can just talk to!

"Computer, run me a hot shower."

"Computer, email John Derby and let him know I will be approximately 20 minutes late."

THAT is the future!

Cool, but it's not really the Star Trek computer until you can talk to it.

Computer, make me a chocolate milkshake!

We are out of milk, commander.

Dammit!

i wonder how much work it would be for him to incorporate some dragon naturally speaking to work with the interface. i mean he got that far with it give him a few months he might be able to bark out 'COMPUTER MUSIC 20th CENTURY ROCK ARTIST TOOL PLAY" or something along those lines :p.

On the one hand, it is just a GUI and one that's been possible since DOS, but on the other hand it is pretty slick looking and he's got it in a touchscreen. So props. It's very reminscient of TNG.

This is awesome but the guy should have ended the video by selecting the Star Trek end credit music on the player... :D

I was looking at it and thought 'this is sweet'. I read the name of the maker and thought 'hell, that is my colleague!'. I checked - and yeah - it's him :) he's the talk of the company now.

Looks sleek - I'm sure it's possible to code (or has already been done) in linux...
Yeah, I was surprised when he mentioned it ran on Windows instead of Linux.

I will admit, this is sweet, and the fact that you can run all the info on that to your phone makes life interesting and easier.

Just kewl :3

I'm not even a Star Trek fan and that's pretty fucking awesome.

The whole touch screen interface was already cool enough, but you add those awesome sound effects and I feel like we're in the future.

For anyone who wants it

This is an older project, I don't think it's seen any real advancement for a while, but this lets you run your computer with an LCARS interface.
Thanks. I've been looking for something like this for awhile.
