Like I said, I'm not really familiar with the game and I don't know what the reaction has been but is there something that is just really pissing people off about this game? Do those who are more in tune with the zeitgeist of the gaming community have anything to add that might explain this?
I guess is mix of refusing new IPs and reprisal for older ones.
There is this proverb, I think the English version goes like this:
?Some people won't eat anything they've never seen before.?
As you can see instead of focusing of what this game could offer you get people asking for another Battlefront, Republic Commando, Empire at War or whatnot.
People do not want new takes on existing IPs or new IPs at all. All they want is Call of Duty 235.
Then there is the problem that there is Force Unleashed which visually strikes in the same direction. That game series was not all to well received. The first game sold more than 8 million copies, the second game did not reach 2 million copies. That is a huge drop in sales and the user scores circle around average at best.
Now there comes a game which visually seems to do the same just without force powers. So people are more likely to go ?meh? about it since they had a negative experience in the past.
Last but not least there is not much to go on about. We have trailers and gameplay cut from the same sequence which also feature confined spaces and linear progression.
This is probably due to an early stage in the development and they simply do not have much to show off but it leads people to think that is all there is.
I'm rather exited about this project. Could be a really interesting experience yet I'm also critical about it for given reasons.
However I give them the benefit of doubt since the game probably won't be release for another 2 years or something.
