Star Wars 1313... thoughts?

The game looks like you're crawling through ugly sever levers. As there doesn't seem to be any surface levels, it doesn't look too interesting. Also the gameplay looked like a ripoff of Uncharted but with blasters and Star Wars themed.

The trailer looked alright and the Gameplay video someone posted higher up on page one...well here's what I thought:

pros
*The gameplay looked really, really good (though devoid of color)
*The ugly support character was designed to be that way ie: great looking character models
*Did you see the physics engine in action when that explosion went off?! Freaking awesome!! Maybe bombs can turn cover into flying, durasteel, deathtraps!!

Cons
*The ugly support character is going to turn on you
*Star Wars 1313 kept booming onscreen: is that a loading screen? If so, I hate it and if not then the editing was terrible
*This could turn into another slighty-off-rails, 4 hour, 3rd person shooter
*This could turn into another reason Star Wars fans have to stay in hiding during daylight hours

What consoles will this be on? Just the standard two or is it going to grace the Wii-U as well?

It certainly sounds interesting, but it's being developped by LucasArts itself. I don't mean to do dev-bashing, but I think there's a general concensus that all good Star Wars games in recent years have one thing in common: they were developped by 3rd parties.

Basically, I hope it won't be a Force Unleashed with guns.

Hmmm, a star wars game where you DON'T play as a jedi?

Part of me is cautious from this fact, another part of me is eagerly awaiting George Lucas to redeem himself for "Attack of the Clones".

That sort of criminal-underground, shady-cantina-dealings bounty hunter setting has sadly been ignored for far too long. Some of the best Star Wars games have been the ones where you set down your lightsaber in favor of a trusty old blaster--Republic Commando, Bounty Hunter, even Battlefront--but it's been years since we had one of those. It's time.

I don't know if 1313 will be some revolutionary game. Probably not. Even if it's just Uncharted Star Wars like I've heard, I will buy it and play the shit out of that game.

Nothing I have seen in any way separates it from the crowd.

So basically it's Steam Sale fodder. Maybe.

Star Wars 1313 will be released on the next-gen consoles.

generic shooter with cookie cutter protagonist only with visuals to rely on. meh i so tired of generic white male protagonists so i don't even care for story or setting.

Remember Me on other hand looks superb!

I'm hoping it will be quite a large, open worldish game that will last some time and have a good story. From what I've seen they have a chance for an open world game in a new environment, but they'll probably squander it and force me from mission area to mission area with cut-scenes thrown in at any chance they get. Not getting my hopes up but I'll still get it.

i guess it looks good its just annoying that no game company seems to get the following message that comes up everytime somebody mentions future star wars games "we want BattleFront 3, Reoublic commando 2 or KotOR3!" seriously how has no one gotten this?

Sounds like what it ties into the ideas Lucas had for his Live Action TV show.

I'm not too enthusiastic here - if a game has "Star Wars" on the cover, I've come to expect "the Star Wars feeling" and won't settle for anything less. And the direction the Star Wars EU has taken during the last couple of years hasn't had many of that.

Also, I'm not a big fan of Boy Boba so far - I liked the Boba Fett from the novels pre-prequels.

If they manage to make it sufficiently Star-Wars-y for my tastes, I'll give it a shot, but I won't preorder it months in advance and throw all my money at them...

I'm skeptical. But only really because the Star Wars games released this generation have been so bloody boring.

There were so many brilliant Star Wars games last generation. It pains me to think what shit we might be exposed to next gen.

I want a new Jedi Knight game, Battlefront 3, Republic Commando 2 and KOTOR 3. Give me what I want!
