Literally every character on that list is a white male. Suddenly I realize why people where angry only one fresh female face was added for Episode VII.

But yeah, lack of Thrawn is a glaring error. He's so popular the EU reboot will inevitably find him returning in a larger capacity.

I have to say I'm disagree with this list, and hard. I don't normally do that with lists, but the lack of any women on the list baffles me. Star Wars gets so much flak (just look at the reaction when the new cast was announced) because it barely has any women in the movies, but the E.U. is full of great ones. Mara Jade springs to mind for almost anyone who thinks of Star Wars females, or just Star Wars. Jacen is included--despite the fact that his whining and fall to the Dark Side are both mentioned, but not his twin Jaina, who is not only the Sword of the Jedi, but has an attitude and wit to rival her father. And Tenel Ka, a Jedi who lost her arm and refused to get a replacement, and instead went on to become a fierce warrior anyway, a full Jedi Knight, and is currently ruling an entire Empire that is known for corruption and political games and assassinations. This woman probably commands more fire power that the entire Galactic Alliance at the moment. And what about Tahari, the Sand People orphan who endured torture at the hands of the Vong but didn't break, and has had a much more tragic life than most people on this list but she's still kicking. "Most people drown in pain. I just swim in it." You don't mess with this girl.
And those are just a few of the characters. There are so many more that I think could have easily bumped Cade, Rahm, Starkiller, and dare I even say it, Exar Kun and Ben off of the list.

No one, and I mean NO ONE, should be missing the fact Starkiller is gone. The first game was decent, the second was a bland and boring abomination, and aside from when he pulled down an Imperial Star Destroyer, he did nothing of any real interest. His character is just as bland and boring, so much so that they had to do the whole "I hold TWO light sabers upside down because I SO KOOL".

His entire story is meaningless, as even his responsibility for the Rebel Alliance is minimal at best and could of been done by any random Mary Sue. I won't miss him, and will happily push for Dark Forces favorite mainstay to be included.
Agreed, although the first post in this thread mentions "Eight" characters we miss so maybe he was just slapped on so we could mock him?

It's only the post-Return of The Jedi stuff that is no longer valid.
Can someone please point me to where Disney has [i/]explicitly[/i] said this? I read the blog post where they killed the EU. They explicitly said that the 6 films and the Clone Wars were canon, and EU post-ROTJ was scrapped. They said [i/]nothing[/i] about pre-ROTJ, so if a future film mentions a past event and contradicts a book/game/comic, guess which is canon?

This clusterf*ck is just getting started.

Umm... is anyone really disappointed that Starkiller doesn't exist in the canon?

He was a BORING character. Those games did not sell because of their story or characters. They sold because of the gameplay.

OT:

Personally... I'm MUCH more disappointed that we'll never get to see, Keria, Darth Nihilus, Kyle Katarn, or Admiral Thrawn on screen than anything else.

Those four basically embodied different key aspects of the Star Wars universe that made it awesome.

You mention that Exar Kun would use his rage in a fight, saying that was bad whether you were a Jedi or a Sith..... the Sith USE rage as a tool, and it is one of the tenets of the Dark Side. So thats perfect for the Sith, but a huge red flag for the Jedi.
