Let's hope the military type will be Kyle Katarn. :D
I superly duperly hope that is true!
I would put money that this character is the casting call for the antagonist. Part of me wonders if one of the females are antagonists as well since the descriptions are pretty similar.

So two female characters... How about half of the cast? That wouldn't really change much.

One of the 'official' Star Wars books I read had Luke with a son and Leia and Han had three kids (two sons and a daughter) who were, by the power of narritivium, all powerful Jedi/Sith/Jedisith. But the book also suggested that Lando was a force user :/
What book? I've read most that exist, particularly the timespan where Luke has a kid, and althugh I've got two or three to catch up, I don't recall it even having been implied that Lando was a force user.
I think it may have been this one:
http://www.waterstones.com/waterstonesweb/products/aaron+allston/star+wars3a+fate+of+the+jedi+-+outcast/6928458/

There was a preview for the next/another book at the end which had the offending material. It doesn't expressly say 'Lando's a Jedi yo!' but something along the lines of 'His piloting skills are unnatural, like he is channeling the force' or something. I read it years back so my mind might have mixed lines up.

Wait a second, I'm A young man aged between 20 and 25, witty and smart, fit but not classically handsome.

If I only knew how to act...

First things first : spoiler alert for SW EU. (If it still matters, since odds are that it'll be ditched, apparently.)

I'm not up to date with the EU anymore, but i believe the casting might still fit (since the info is partial) several EU characters.

The fact that no one fits the role of Jacen is... not a surprise [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Darth_Caedus#Last_days]. What bothers me more is that the women are too young to be a post-NJO Jaina Solo. We have a twenty-something Ben Skywalker [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Ben_Skywalker] (if the witty(*) [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Wookieepedia:Quote_of_the_Day/Archive/Ben_Skywalker] part is any clue :p) and one of the women might be Allana [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Allana_Solo] (played be a slightly older actress). Besides that, there are countless possibilities. The geezer could very well be Bel Iblis (even if they ditch the rest of the EU, since there is a TV series in preparation with the dawn of the rebellion, this may be a good tie-in candidate). (Also, this, for what it's worth, it fits the current EU.) [http://www.theforce.net/latestnews/story/Rumor_Ep_VII_To_Star_Solo_Child_And_Grandchild_150534.asp]

And, of course, I totally agree that one of them should be Kyle Katarn. :D (Not counting on that too much though.)

As for Lando, AFAIK he's not a Jedi, though he may very well be Force-attuned [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Force_attunement]. (The Star Wars keyword for "non-Jedi who still has a pretty thick plot armor".)

I'll be sad if they turn SW into another Comics-like multiverse where coherence goes second after whatever looks cool at the moment. The unique continuity coupled with the sheer size of the expanded universe is what made SW unique to me. (And mostly every other fan that I know of, in fact.)

(*) This link to Ben Skywalker quotes, contrary to the others, is a must read.

PS : Sorry if there is weird capitalization somewhere (or bad grammar), I'm french and, for some reason, my browser seems to believe that not only none of my words exist, but also that it must change some of my words to add a caps at start as I type...

PPS : Also, if (again) the EU is still Worth anything... no Chewie. But he has a nephew [http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Lowbacca], who is both a wookie and a Jedi. Therefore kickass.

J.J. Abrams' involvement means this movie is assumed shit until proven shinola.

Two women = more, I hope than princess and diaphanous regal Mon-Mothma clone elder.

The girls will probably be generic cuties. Expect 34c moons of Endor and no (or "accidental") midriff or cleavage.

It would truly be nice if they nodded to the Star Wars Expanded Universe. After Lucas released the post-Endor time period to the novelists, they don't deserve to be entirely forgotten.

It also be awesome if Jedi were more about the piloting than the swordplay. That would make for a nice chronologically consistent trend. Wedge as the old master would be pretty swell.

I heard that David Tennant MAY have a role (or is trying to get one) in the new starwars movies from a interview where he is talking about doctor who and states he has no intention of coming back and that he had another big sifi franchise he is getting into and MANY time he has said he would love to be in a starwars moive.

Personally I reckon he could do a dam good job and it would be funny and awesome seeing a timelord become a jedi...

That's one I have read, and while I can't quote every line in the book, I'm pretty comfortable saying you likely read more into it then what was there (or indeed have things mixed up).

In any case, I do not believe it's ever been implied that Lando was anything more than skilled and lucky in the same vein as Han. There have been occasional mentions equating their luck as an advantage to that of the force, but merely in the context of comparing two 'skillsets' nothing more.

Any bets on whether the young characters will be the children of Luke & Someone and Han & Leia? There could be some weird kind of space incest going on there though.

They just need to have Chewbacca in there and I'll be happy. No Wookie, no sale.
I was thinking that "not classically handsome" and "classically handsome and confident" in the descriptions just screams Luke and Han. Unless they play it that Luke hooked up off camera, Han and Leia must have been awful busy.
One of the 'official' Star Wars books I read had Luke with a son and Leia and Han had three kids (two sons and a daughter) who were, by the power of narritivium, all powerful Jedi/Sith/Jedisith. But the book also suggested that Lando was a force user :/

I don't know how they are going to be writing the films since there are already licensed books that take place after the films. Maybe they'll retcon it all and say those aren't canon or something. Hopefully they do because they just made everyone and their pet Jarjar a Jedi.
I wondered about how much they were going to borrow from the expanded universe without actually using their story lines. I suppose they could use the same kids as the books, I just hope they don't spend too much of the movie in flashbacks explaining how relationships developed, Han's first time changing a diaper, etc.

I noticed a lack of black actors/actresses being requested so I guess Lando stayed stag.

Finally, a guy aged around seventy, strong opinions and tough.
<a href=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R._Lee_Ermey>Lee Ermey for Star Wars! Can you not see this guy wielding a lightsaber and kicking ass?

Ah...wishful thinking...

I'm fairly sure they've already said they're going to by and large ignore the EU for SW VII, so you can put your twisted, evil dreams of seeing the Vong in Star Wars away. =p

Also: The old man with strong opinions should be George Takei, he'd deliver the best burns to the whippersnappers.

So they finally got two females in a star wars movie.

Well, that's an achievement I suppose.

Beyond that this doesn't tell us much though but at least news has started trickling out now.
hmm likely not all too much of an "achievment". both the women are younger than all the men, so star wars will follow fashion and make people think youth and women go hand and hand.. i.e. its not cool to be a women unless your young but if your a man any age is fine
