Well, it is nice to see an actual boycott over it. Shame is that it is for the wrong reasons. I boycott it because it is now a property of das haüs der maüs, and I refuse to allow them to have a single cent of my money.
Although, I really didnt need a reason to boycott it because I am one of the few people in existence that LOATHED the original trilogy. The prequel trilogy, while not all that good, did much more for the franchise by setting up much needed improvements that had been mostly conceived out of the now murdered expanded universe, for example the lore related to the Sith. The franchise for me peaked and promptly died at KOTOR1 and consequently KOTOR2. So it wasnt as if there was really anything lost for me hearing Disney bought the property.
Furthermore, just looking at the trailers, you can already see that Disney has done what Disney does, and is building this thing from the ground up to be nothing more than fan service cash in. Its too "pretty & Shiney" with too much focus on trying to feel like an extension of the original trilogy and distance itself from the only films that gave the franchise any real depth.
So I could understand if there was a boycott brewing because it looks as if it is going to be another exercise in Disney franchise mutilation and milking.
Playing devils advocate, I could ALMOST understand a race based boycott, given the franchise has never been all that diverse. However, regardless if it is a departure, you can already tell that most of the cast IS in fact white, so its little more than being alarmed for the sake of being alarmed. There has been a big focus on being anti white for the sake of inclusivity but the likelihood of this being such an example is ridiculously unlikely.
Its such a shame to see people get all worked up for the wrong reasons, yet cant be bothered for the right ones.
EDIT: Captcha= Blaze a trail
LOL.. yeah captcha, sure, I know that more often than not all you do when you blaze a trail is to cordon yourself off from everyone else and set your own ass on fire. I know how well that works.
