I'd get that if I didn't hate the game so much wasn't so terribly bad at it.

I will still believe this game is coming out when I see it. 9 years of failed word will do that.

Now I'm not one for special/collector editions, but holy shit.

The rest of you developers/publishers better start taking notes, this is how special editions are done.

Blizzard marketing at work, enjoy having more useless garbage that will just be thrown away by the wife after a garage sale.

I must say that I am so buying this. I already own SC1 and the BW expansion, but, hey, it can't hurt to have it on a USB.

This looks like the best Collectors Ed. in a long time.

Whoa, stop right there criminal scum. If they do this now, what are they gonna do for their 3 SC2 titles collector's multi-goty edition? Park a Battlecruiser on your garden?

how long have you been a gamer exactly?
Considering I am 31, and have been playing video games since I was about 4 where I started on an Atari 2600, the answer is I've been a gamer for over 25 years. My point was that SC launched over a decade ago, and how long after the original SC came out did they release a CE version exactly? I'm confident it didn't precede the release of the standard version of the game. The examples you listed were of games that didn't take a ten-year break between releasing a sequel.
I am personally offended that you call my qualifications into question, as I don't understand what that even had to do with the issue at hand. So you are saying that unless you've spent a lot of time (20+ years, let's say for arguments' sake) that my opinion doesn't matter? Frankly, being a gamer of any length of time doesn't make any of us an expert about the medium. I enjoy playing games, and I put an amount of passion into this hobby, but I have never claimed to be an expert.
I have no problem with you disagreeing with my opinion, but your personal attack on me was uncalled for. I apologize if my opinions did not meet with your own, but that is the beauty of everyone being an individual. If everyone whose opinion does not exactly reflect your own, I feel bad for your ability to converse with anyone who has a conflicting opinion.

Well, sign me up for the apparently small minority who has zero interest in this. I'll probably get the game itself at some point, but I'm already not thrilled about buying it in three separate segments (even if the campaigns in each are full-game-sized). A hundred bucks? I don't even pay $50 for anything anymore with all the sales going on these days (if you look for them). I can't remember the last time I paid over $30 for a game even right at launch (including Borderlands and L4D2), and the average I pay is something like $6, according to my receipts from the past couple years. Yeah, I'm cheap. I also get to play a lot more different games than if I spent $100 on collector's editions. Just not for me, I guess.

Excluding the fact that I'll unlikely be even in an area where I can get this game as a CE anyways, I am really only interested in the commentary and the game that's bundled. I mean, the USB key isn't really that expensive nowadays...

Holy crap.

Do want.
Yeah. It's tempting.

I know I won't have the cash for this and that the system requirements are likely to have my PC screaming in agony.

And yet I'm still salivating.

Hmm, $100 for only a third of a game?

Uhh, there is NO amount of 'awesomesauce' that can cover up that ugly turd.

What is up with so many people complaining that StarCraft 2 got "split up" in three parts? It's already been confirmed that the Terran campaign in Starcraft 2 has 30+ missions which is about the same amount as three races combined in the original game, the other two campaigns are considered as expansion packs, which are also in about 30 missions in size along with several added units for multiplayer as well.

Probably because it IS split up. Yeah, the Terran campaign has 3 times as many missions as the first game. And when I was done with the Terran campaign, I COULD MOVE ONTO THE NEXT RACE. The race was in there, no need for an expansion, I could continue the story. The whole story is what is split in three, and that's what is a rip-off.

Oh please. No, it's $100 for a full game that's going to have two expansions. Weren't we past this already?

Er, so you expect them to release a collector's edition *after* the game is coming out? So people have to buy it twice?

The people in charge of making the CE aren't the people who are making the game itself.

This is one of the first collectors editions in a while where I actually want a copy.

Oh, so I get to play the Zerg and Protoss stories in this game as well? Ok then, that is a full game. Otherwise, it's not.

It has just as many missions as the first StarCraft. It has a much more fleshed out single player other than "do mission X, win, go to mission Y." It will have missions playing as other races.

That's like saying that because you didn't get the full story (since half of it - The UEF, the Zerg wars, the growing dominance of the Queen of Blades - was in Brood War) StarCraft 1 wasn't a full game.
