...and about 3/4 of all those 25 million accounts are banned CS hackers I guess.

But good for for Valve, I guess they earned it in the end with constant bargains and free updates.
Keyword from the article being "active" I would assume banned accounts are inactive. Of course, with no definition for active its hard to say. Online in 90 days? 6 months? bought something in the same period?

I keep meaning to give Steam a look. Maybe in the summer, when I've got no uni.=]
And if my computer can take it...

Either way, that's a lot of users. Good on 'em.

And to think, I am just one of those 25 million...
Just one more statistic... oh well.
I wonder how many of those 25 million accounts are just alternative accounts for other people...
or accounts that were made just to play ONE game that someone bought and were forced to sign up.
That's me. I'll probably buy others sooner or later, but for now I have Steam in anticipation of MW2. When I get a job I shall be taking advantage of all those lovely cheap games. :)

Had a Steam account since...2006, I think.

I'm still in love with it.

and that Multiplayer patch for Aliens vs Predator 1 only made my reproductive organs harder.

Its empire week?!

*rushes to check steam*

Heeeey.... what the hell picture of steam... you lied to me.

I love Steam, I buy way too many games off it due to its constant 'steam sales'. I bought my girlfriend Psychonauts the other day, and she bought me Tropico 3 yesterday. Its a great way to buy games, and saves you the trouble of having to store 100+ discs/boxes in your house.

For me they'd have to thank Dawn of War 2 which actually forced me to use Steam and GFWL at the exact... fucking... time. Needless to say when I got my credit card I became quite the spender online I'm on 47 games and counting (of course I only buy games when there is a deal on, I got the entire x-com pack for 2 dollars. I don't even know what x-com is!)

Good for Valve, I have been a member since March 2004. The earliest game I can remember playing on Steam was Half Life 2.
