I got Strike Vector right before the sale started. It's still the same price, but I've been having a lot of fun with it. The controls take a bit to get use to, because YOU WILL CRASH. But it's fun.

Got HL1, HL2, HLE1, HL2E2, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon for under 12 bucks combined. Not a bad start to the 30-dollar budget - if I just restrict myself to games under 5 bucks that I actually have interest in, I should be able to fill out my library with games I'll play without bankrupting myself. Hopefully. (Next up - hope the 'couch co-op' group wins that vote so I can grab Monaco for a buck-fifty and Octodad for 5.)

Does anyone know why or how teams are getting points stolen?

I went to the "points breakdown page" just out of curiosity and there are tons of random moments in the day where points are stolen, and I didn't see on the main page how this was possible.

I just noticed that all the games I bought from the steam sales have the number 2 on them :|
Torchlight 2, Trine 2, and The Witcher 2. All for under $5 each

Played through Torchlight 2. I would have gladly paid full price for this game. Think I already got my moneys worth :D
Hoping the other 2 games don't disappoint

I'm also hoping in game items in Dota 2 go on sale, more specifically I WANT PORTAL ANNOUNCER!!!!
I'm begging to be verbally abused by GlaDOS again.
Just a heads up in case you weren't aware. The Glados announcer is about $0.62 and the mega kills announcer is $0.36 in the community market. I think it's pretty cheap!

Bought Borderlands 2 and all the DLC (minus the character customizations) for about 25 bucks. Not to shabby. Now I'll wait until next week and buy Space Marine when it comes on sale and I have some more running money.

So far, nothing I care about, but I'll keep looking.

Well, Dead Rising 3, but not at that price.

thatd explain why so few games are on the weekly deals

They have weeks like this even without the seasonal sales. I'm not sure it was the reason.

The problem here is I've already got like... all the games I want off steam right now. Last year's quartet of sales kinda solved all my gaming needs, really.
The sales are usually fairly repetitive, but I still keep hoping for that one rare find.

Sadly no games I want on sale yet, at least not daily deals. My bold prediction for how this whole team thing will turn out is that the one same team (looks like purple) that happened to get the most active badge collectors will win everyday. So it won't really work out to be much of a competition. More likely those with the disposable income to be steam level 200 and up will just buy the whole thing.

I have to admit this time I'm not too excited about the sale because 1)I have a trip to save up for and 2) I have too many games in my backlog.

But I am eyeing those early access games like The Forest and The Stomping Land.

Question - Do early access games go on sale? I know I'm a cheap skate, but I'm not sure if I want to buy The Stomping Land for $25 in its current state.

Judging by today's sales, they can go on sale, but not for much.

Divinity: Original Sin, for example, releases in two weeks and is currently 20% off.

It's the first time for me that there is nothing I want to buy in the Steam sale, at least nothing that I don't already own.

I.... DIDN'T KNOW THAT! Thanks!
This is the first time I'm actually gonna dabble in the market and trading cards/badges, just for a chance at free games :D

Edit: Anyone confused by the FAQ? I got a message saying I needed level 5 to be credited for trading cards, but then the FAQ says level8?

Finally got Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion + the two 2 DLC. -80% woooooo!
Also re-bought Red Alert 3 + Uprising for dirt cheap. I have hard copies of them, but this way I don't have to install Securom.

Hohohoho, ROUND 2! Steam VS Wallet, Fight! (In excited rapid firing commentator voice)

Wallet starts of strong! He sees all the daily deals, he looks through each one carefully, Steam stares into the essence of his soul with each glance, he stops at Amnesia, can Steam pull off a quick knock out? NO! Wallet comes out unscathed.

Now Wallet moves on to that flash sales, yup the flash sales, Steam is pulling out the big guns now, can he force Wallet to succumb? Can he? Can he? Might Spore actually do it? NOOOO Wallet resists the force by the inch of his teeth.

Last but definitely not least! Wallet moves on to the Community Votes, Steam's pulling out all the stops now, surely pulling 90% off on whatever shit he has will conquer Wallet, the stress is immense, Wallet sweats and gasps, wait for it... wait for it... OH MY GOD IT'S A MIRACLE, Wallet destroys Steam this round, ohhhh the children are in the streets!!

if you do that, must haves in my opinion:

-pretty much anything made by valve, Portal, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike, hard to find better games on each of their categories

-FTL, one of the best games ever made, and hopefully you can catch it for 3.33-2.5 bucks when it goes daily or flash

-Torchlight 2, excellent for coop-ing

-Antichamber, fantastic puzzle game, is going to blow your mind, the standard discount right now is 70% (only 6 dollars!), whichis already pretty good, but wait and see if it goes on a daily deal

-Rogue Legacy, it should go for 5-3.74 bucks soon, fantastic metroidvania roguelike

-XCOM: Enemy Unknown you might still be able to catch the base game for only 7.5, worth every penny

-Fallout 3 GOTY edition, hundreds upon hundreds of entertainment hours for just 5 dollars, several times better than skyrim in my opinion (not thats saying much skyrim is boring imo)

-Civ 5, you might find the base game at around 6 bucks during a daily, its better with the DLC, but the base game can still provide you with dozens of hours ot strategic entertainment

-Just Cause 2, excellent open world game, has a multiplayer mod, regularly goes on sale for 3 dollars, is a complete steal

-Mark of the ninja, i bet you can find it for 3.74 bucks or less during a daily/flash, amazing stealth game

-Legend of Grimrock, old school and yet refreshing dungeon crawler, you can probably find it for just 3 bucks during a flash deal, or 5 bucks right now if you dont want to wait, it has steam workshop with hundreds of mods, high replay value

-Gmod, this one works best if you have tons of source games, is basically a toybox, download addons on the workshop until your PC explodes, is incredibly fun, it regularly goes for 2.5 during dailies and flash sales

-bit trip presents... Runner 2... future regend of rhythm alien, you can get it right now for 3 bucks, could potentially go even cheaper, simple yet addictive rhythm/platforming game

-check all the good vintage games, blasts from the past such as FEAR, X-COM: UFO Defense (the original X-COM game), Commandos 2, etc, there are a bunch of really great old games that go for real real cheap

Day 2, Steam stopped me by on the internet street today and mugged me for £3.75, they then stuffed Alien Breed trilogy into my pockets and legged it.

I better bring a taser with me next time guys.

It seems it will come tomorrow. Lets all hold our wallets for the coming storm. Hope it isn't a repeat of 2012, waiting until the very end of summer to do a fucking summer sale.

So hyped. Summer Sales are always huge and they always compete or even beat the Christmas sales.

I also got a foil mysterious card and a shit load of mysterious cards. Hoping for big money when the sale starts on the market.

Until then, ill just be here making gaben dance in anticipation.

Ugh... do I break my "NO PRE-ORDERS!" rule to get 25% off on Dead Rising 3, a game which I'm pretty much guaranteed to buy at some point anyway regardless of reviews because of how much I loved the first two (and Off The Record)?

Or do I wait for the Halloween sale on horror titles, at which point the game will already have been out a month or so and may end up actually cheaper (assuming it's part of the sale)?

Bah! I think the smart thing to do would probably be to wait. It's not like I won't be buying a bajillion other games for pennies to play in the meantime.
