Day 2 of the sale and I'm already about $50 or so down and about 10 games up...including, surprisingly, two early access ones. However they, unlike the majority of the tripe on early access, are being developed by proper developers in franchises I already know so no risk.

I'm also on the Pink team, tho Heaven only knows what that's about!

Just went halves on a Divinity:OS Collector Edition thing with my brother. That's probably going to be me for the whole sale. I have a huge backlog anyway, and it's only going to get larger when DA:I and The Witcher 3 come out later this year.

So yeah, that's it for me.

theres 7 other non-early access games dude, not to mention almost the entirely of the steam catalog has some sort of discount, and flash sales also often donde include early access games, you can even vota for games you want to be on sale, which obviously wont include early access since you dont like em

Day 2, Steam stopped me by on the internet street today and mugged me for £3.75, they then stuffed Alien Breed trilogy into my pockets and legged it.

I better bring a taser with me next time guys.

lucky...

between today and yesterday steam has inappropriately touched my wallet constantly, it did however gave me 2 copies of xcom enemy within, 2 copies of dont starve and 1 copy of the witcher for the trouble

still i think i should call the police

Whats your point? Early Access shouldn't be on the sale.

Youre right but they arent finished. The early access program is supposed to be designed for people to support devs before the game is out.

Putting these games on sale on the front page of steam attract the general populace that will negatively impact the game. There is a reason there is a separate tab for early access and they should stay there.

Not to mention the problems you get with the DayZ sale where the sale made the price cheaper than what the first adopters paid for it. Something the devs said wouldn't happen.

There are completed games that deserve the spotlight of these sales a lot more and would benefit a lot more.

Only spent ~10 euro so far(gief the American prices instead, Steam x.x) on Far Cry 3 Deluxe Version and some Borderlands 2 DLC. Really wanted to pick up Dead Island Riptide as well, but I decided against buying two games on the very first day.
If the Fallout 3/New Vegas versions with all DLC appear I might pick those up, just to try them with mods, and if Riptide returns I'll probably cave in and purchase it. Apart from that I don't think there are any other games I'm particulary intrested in. Dishonored maybe.

Also sold off all my trading cards for this sale. Got like 3 euro for them... 8D

Anyone who liked Theme Hospital should seriously consider Prison Architect.

May be early access, but it's much more than just 'playable'.

Great story time. So I pick quite a few cheap games and two decent priced games, but at a small percentage off. Since there has litterally been almost nothing coming out I had the extra money so I wasn't worried about going a bit high. ($140). Then I'm sitting on the front page, and I see Valve Complete collection. My eye's weery from the last purchase perk up and I go "ooh what's in that" and I hold my cursor over it and see over 24 games at just over $20. For the first time ever I felt like that picture of steam bursting down the door going it's sales time and the wallet going "NO STEAM NO!"

11 days of sales

9 spots on the main page every day

4 spots in flash sales, 3 flash sales per day means 12 spots per day, same for community choices

in total, 261 games will appear on the front page at one point or another, in fact i believe we are going to see games appearing on the front page more than once before this is over, so dont worry about the spotlight

there is a valid argument about what you say i guess, but those games are still amrket as early access in their respective store pages, is still, at the end, the customer's decision whenever to buy em or not

The main sales are given more of a highlight than the other two. Although I think Flash sales have better prices.

That being said 1/3 of the main sales are Early Access and 1/4 of the flash sales are Early Access. For someone like me who doesn't even think Early Access should be a thing, let alone be on the main sale, the sale quality is reduced by quite a lot.

Why would I want to see 15%-33% off a early access game instead of some slightly older games at 75-90% off? I picked up Just Cause 2 for $2 in one off the older summer sales. Compare that to $30 for DayZ and the quality is just laughable.

If they really wanted to do this they could have easily included 1 or 2 early access titles in the community choice so that if people really wanted them they could vote.

Just took advantage of this to buy three games I've been meaning to get to for awhile now:

The Stanley Parable
Papers, Please
Ducktales Remastered

...for $14. You literally cannot beat that.

Picked up Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon, just hoping Uplay doesn't prove to be annoying. I've avoided Ubisoft games on pc unless they are drm free but for a under £5 I'll take the risk.

Picked up Enemy Within as well so I can sob over my fallen squad mates some more :D

All I've picked up so far is Max Payne 1+2 for $3. I'm holding out for Broken Age, The Banner Saga or Kentucky Route Zero to drop another 20% or so...

Except it does. 33% of the sale being Early Access means there are fewer finished games that get on the sale. If you are someone who doesnt buy Early Access it means the sale is much less interesting. Especially if you already have a huge library of games.

Iv'e already got the big AAA/Indie titles for the most part. The Far Cry 3s, Dragon Ages and Skyrims of the sale. With more of a limited space they would put these games up instead of lesser known or popular games that I might not have yet.

Not to mention the fact that I really dont agree with Early Access and don't want to see them on steam, let alone on sale.
