It sounds easy, but saying something like 'this character has big tits because I like tits' is very bad PR.
Didn't stop Dragon's Crown from becoming a success and selling well on two generations of consoles.

Also openly admitting to putting your waifu in the game is quite strange, and you really have to be running a troll persona or have transcended to another plane of existence. You could say Yoko Taro did it, but the dude is wearing a mask most of the time.
Nier: Automata became one of the best selling action-rpgs of the 8th generation, because it was more than that. The fan-service was there, but served a purpose, and has good writing and character moments. Like I said before, there is an in-universe reason why the 2B and her respective models dress like maids, yet it helps that Taro was honest. Him being honest actually got, begrudging, respect from most Western/US critics. The fan-service did not hurt sales on the game, and even lead to remake of the first Nier game. A huge accomplishment that is nothing to laugh at. Before that point, most of Taro's games were commercial failures or cult hits at best.

I swear, all that dude had to do was have his ninja high schoolers graduate ninja high school and go to ninja university and he wouldn't've rage quit Senran Kagura
Japan and their high school fetishism. Honestly I am happy the franchise is mostly dead.

What is up with feminists, and their anti-sex, anti-softcore porn stance on video games.

Not feminists, just people who don't find being stuck in 2008 recession era amusing at all. We aren't going to be 23 year olds forever.

The problem is this is a slippy slope. People are rarely satisfied with a new status quo for long. You ban this, they will come after violent video games, or anime, or porn.

Uhh, just to be clear, you're complaining about people not liking the Sexy High School Girls thing?

'Cause I got a half formed rant on how the prevalence of Anime High School is malforming Japanese visual media and it's perception overseas as a whole.

But unless Project Eve has some particularly awkward story beats it's not really relevant, though I will note that Korean feminists have similarly bemoaned the sexualizing of Korean school girls and resultant crimes.

The fandom is very defensive with how constantly there is someone who would criticize the design decision to the point it become a bastion of alt right memes

I know modern anime has its many problems with sexualization (I have no problem admitting this or acknowledging it), but can we please not derail the thread to this argument? Whatever it is, save it for another thread, or got to the complaints thread in the off-topic forum.

Some extra details.

Yeah, looks like what makes me bounce off series like Bayonetta and Devil May Cry; A setting where I can't tell up from down, and where eyes, wings, and halos are generously added to everything you fight.

Also, that thick green latex molded right into her buttcrack and cooch must really suck for her.

You don't see me complaining that candy crash needs more sexy women, or men because that would be batshit insane, but the opposite is accepted as pretty normal.

These video game companies will hire bullshit jobs like diversity consultants, and so fore, and shove down changes like less sexualized people in games. I don't fucking agree there should be a wide diversity of games. Some should have violence, some should have sex, some should have sexualized characters, and some shouldn't. Once we open pandora's box on this isn't acceptable, but this is, it's all downhill from there. Games will get less diverse and will be less like books, and more like TV shows, and movies which I don't agree with. If you don't like a game don't buy it, buy something else. A game modded on Loverslab, or a game like this isn't causing crime. I would argue a sex-positive nerd is less likely to do sexual crimes than someone who doesn't play video games but has troubling views on consent.

Lmao, you "don't fucking agree" that there should be a wide diversity of games because that will open Pandora's Box and make games less diverse? We can't say some things are acceptable and some aren't so if a game company decides to shoot for more diversity that should be unacceptable?

Get off the internet for a bit, it's rotted your brain. Both Deltarune Chapter 2 and Get In The Car Loser have just released and are free, go play some games.

This is their PR though.
Like we as bros can appreciate a 'man of culture', but that's obviously not appropriate for an interview.

It probably has less to do with being honest, and more to do with it being a good game. There are plenty of weeb games that are supposed to be niche and then attracted dare I say, the wrong audience?

To use Atlus again, the average Atlus fan on the internet was someone I would describe as someone who just cannot stop using meme arrows outside of 4chan. After P5, the average Atlus fan is the run-of-the-mill liberal self-hating weeb. Stuff like the datable loli, the prostitute teacher, or the implied underage sex with the nurse gets ignored because enjoying the game and sharing it takes precedent over pointing out how problematic some content is, and nobody really brings it up.

Hence why I said it accomplished more despite the fan-service. The game is good, no doubt about it. That's why I mentioned his other games were either commercial flops or cult hits at best. All of his games from before have either bad or serviceable combat and gameplay at best. Platinum came in and gave both Nier: A, and the remake, Nier: R the polish they needed.

This is their PR though.
That commercial has nothing to do with Dragon's Crown PR. I did not even know that existed and does not matter as Atlus is doing more than fine as business and most people don't know exists. Does not change much, nor do I care. There games sell well, so whatever. I'm ending this and moving on. You wanna talk about bad PR in games, make a new thread or go to the complaints thread please. We're staying on topic about the actual game: Project Eve.

It was the elephant in the room with Project Eve, I believe it merits discussion since digital foundry commented (and got unjust criticism of it, among them performative wokeness)

I don't like what happened either, but just talk about it on the current events thread. Or put it in a video games and articles thread. Please. I'm just asking you this one thing and you can talk about it as much as you want on a different thread or make your own. I want to at least try and keep the thread positive about the game. I really don't care about some jackasses with nothing better to do with their time. It's the same song and dance that goes nowhere over a million times.

This is the radical faction who emerged to and people with boob envy / upset at women looking better than them.

Seriously even in 1st wave such radicals existed lopping breasts of statues or attacking paintings claiming they were doing it because the works were oppressive to women and sexualising them for the pleasure of male viewers.

Yeah, take it somewhere else. First and only warning. You're not derailing the thread.
