Stereotypes that are completely wrong

I'm a strong-blooded Russian who's a bit on the scrawny side and is a very light drinker. On the other hand, I love (most) of the Motherland's leaders. I'm also part-Jewish, and that's apparently where my cheapness and unruly hair comes from.

This reminds me: I know a bookish Asian girl who absolutely hates math and computers, is very talkative, and is fluent in Hebrew. Aside from her dimunuitive stature, she's pretty much the anti-stereotype.

A shame indeed! I've not seen a bad-looking top hat in my life. Monocles... different story.

It's not that he does it just to get attention or anything, it's honestly just how he's always been, even when he thought he was straight >.> We've been good friends since we were little, and he's always been kinda flame-tastic...

But yes, it can be kinda annoying, especially when you get three or four of flamers together and they actually make a contest of who can be the most stereotypically gay... funny as hell, but annoying.

Oh man, I ran into a "who can be gayer" contest once, but it wasn't between gay guys. My friens on the dorm were doing it. So I just walked up and said "I can beat all of you" and kissed one of them.

The French stereotype is a one that's pretty much totally wrong in my experience. Aside from the snooty arrogance. That is spot on with a few of them.

I don't see where the whole English tea thing came from. Especially since (true fact) Ireland is the biggest tea drinking country in the world.

I think stereotypes usually come from when people go somewhere meet only a certain type of person. For example if you went to Ireland and only met a drunk stupid farmer you couldn't be blamed for thinking that that was the main type of person living there.

Almost all American's are immigrants from one generation or another. I'm American but Irish as well.

Don't stereotype a country you don't know.
I admit some Irish are heavy drinkers but stick to the country you are from and there are immigrants from Ireland all around the world.

Again, that's a group plagued by the problem of a vocal minority. There are so many stereotypes about furries it's not even funny anymore, and none of them are true.

Not being offensive or anything but England has the highest underage drinking in Europe. While alcoholism is a problem in Ireland it's a problem everywhere. People in Ireland are more inclined to drink but less inclined to get pissed then a lot of people think. Also in Family Guy they have references to people beating there wives in Ireland. I don't know where the hell they got that but it's definately not true.

Yea I'm 1/2 Irish, 1/4 German, and 1/4 Scottish. If it weren't for my inherent logic and intelligence keeping me going, I would have succumbed to rage and booze long ago XP

I personally dislike the stereotype that Jews are greedy and stingy with money. I'm not saying it's completely false, we Jews do seem to like and be smart with money, and some may be stingy, but keep in mind that many Jews are also good people. So I hate hearing about how Jews never tip and things like that, because that's not true.

I don't like stereotypes either but as someone who worked in a bar for quite a few years I can categorically say that Jews (and blacks) don't usually tip.

That said, the ones who do tip acknowledge this fact and try to make up for it by tipping really generously. So always give a black or a jew good service because they might be one of the tippers.

Same thing with white people and dancing, the few who can dance, dance very well.

Also, as someone who has lived in the middle of the highest concentration of Asians in NYC, they really are the worst drivers. I've been all around the world and its the only place I've ever been hit by a car and it's always happened on the sidewalk.
