Also because I don't think anyone on this website hasn't had to learn about your preferences. Honestly, I swear to God you preface every comment with 'as a paedophile'. We all know what your preference is and by and large we're OK with it so please don't keep mentioning it constantly. Imagine the grating annoyance if I prefaced every post with 'I'm a sadomasochist'.

Now the reason people are very wary of paedophiles is because of the sample. Think about it, due to statistical likelihood people will either assume you're straight or not assume you're anything. Now how do you think that most people find out someone's a paedophile? If you want to change public perception you can either stop your fellow paedophile from doing the rape and murder stuff or you can accept why people are worried. It's not 'ignorance', it's 'making a projection based on the public behaviour of a sample of undisclosed size'. Whether it's 1% or 99% that go rapey makes no difference when it's 100% of the visible sample.

I admit I mention it a wee bit(understatement, I know) too much but I mention it now because it is a pain in the royal ass stereotype to be lumped into. :/

They are wary because news sources love to garner juicy stories about "CHILD RAPED AND KILLED, NEWS AT ELEVEN!", while not even caring they are using incorrect terms when describing the perpetrator, which thus leads to more misinformed people. Also, not reporting on the Pro-Pedo groups that, you know, don't harm kids, which is the majority.
So, no matter what, in the end, it's still the news media endlessly recycling the same bullshit.

The visible example being the only one that is being reported on because that is the crap sells to the mindless drones.
