I don't deny Jobs was one of the most important people in the history of technology, but then so was Pope Gregory IX(look it up). Just because you're "important", doesn't make you necessary... or helpful.

It is amazing, even now to see how much hate is being sent his way, and it is just as untrue as ever. That you would say that he isn't helpful is just plain ignorant. He has had a tremendous positive influence on technology, and the world, while he worked at Apple.

Okay, I am being a little over-dramatic however he was a revolutionary. Most of the things were thought of by him. They were perfected again and again by him. Others could have done it, however who knows. It could have taken years longer.

You do realize apple didn't do ANY of those first. Just slapped a shiny logo on it and called it "magical".

Guess who hired him? It was steve who invested in the idea of a GUI, we can credit Jeff for leading the macintosh project, and for making the decision for a one button mouse, which only now when we have gesture mouses makes sense.
Google Jef Raskin he had way more to do with that than Steve.

Regardless of what apple has become today, he was a smart man who had the drive to attempt to create an innovative and new product in the personal computing world. No one deserves to die in the manner he did.

As so many other I'm a PC user and I can (proudly) say I never actually used an apple product but still if it wasn't for Steve Jobs we probably wouldn't have a lot of the things we got today. Hoping someone steps in his shoes as an equally or better person to the world. RIP Steve Jobs.

Even if I haven't been an avid user of Apple products, only the iPod Nano, it still saddens me to see him die. He was just 56 years old, far too young for a man so passionate about his work.

I hope Apple continues on strongly (and perhaps even lower their prices on the laptops).

Jobs' death comes as a "meh" kind of thing to me. Sure he's passed, but it doesn't directly affect me. I don't particularly like Mac, or it's niche market, including the people who buy macs (elitist hipster douchebags, artists with their noses so far in the air they can smell zeus' buttcrack, and the 99% of mac users that will claim that Macs are better because they don't get viruses). On the other hand, I dislike people who use PCs who think they're superior for some god forsaken reason (Cheaper, easier to repair, the ability to right click). In the end of the day, People will buy what they are accustomed to. As for me, I'm just waiting for Google to absorb Apple and Microsoft, Dismantle the both of them and become supreme ruler of the world.

It does take a great salesman when you can sell grossly overprized products by the millions. And I'm not trying to be snarky here: that's what macs are, and that's what he did. And that takes a respectable amount skill.

Anyway, it's never a good thing when someone passes away, but I can't say I'm very affected by this.
