Actually the article with the comic has a good point. Out of the many gaming e-zines, magazines, journals, and media sites that claim they support indie developers, very few of them actually do so. Like the article says, all they ever do is mention a successful indie game after it's already gained substantial fame.

You can't really call that "support." That's like giving half a candy bar to a guy who used to live on the streets and then saying you feed the homeless.

Unfortunately if you sell these crappy match 3 & color spasm puzzle games on BigFish, (whom guarentee that people with an onboard graphics chip could play that crap), the developers actually DO make money, with only 40% piracy, meaning that these indie companies will continue to make more & more nearly idential games that shamelessly rip eachother off & greatly lack originality, drowning out any that actually might unless the developers sell-out to BigFish to get premium advertising.

I only support indie games that shamelessly rip of the original Zelda, Final Fantasy 1-6, Secret of Mana, & Chrono Trigger.
