I can't wait to see what dull and safe manner Microsoft and Platinum use to advertise their striptease gun-witch game to us whiny yanks...
A few seconds of tame footage from the game, big flashing lights a catch phrase buzz words and finishing with a suggestive image of the girl. It's called template 37a in the advertising industry.

Totally worth it.
Nobody cares in Japan. They all hustle to the top floor porn shops together anyway. I doubt anyone would be embarrassed on main street.
There's something kind of refreshing about that kind of honesty. Don't always see that these days.

But anyhoo, lewd ads aside, I'm more concerned as to whether or not the actual game will be good. A 40/40 score on Famitsu, while I don't know how reliable Famitsu is, certainly is something. Now I just have to decide which games to cut from my ever-expanding games-to-buy list...

How does she fire the guns on her shoes? I don't see any of the devices hypothesized by Yahtzee, Matt, and Yug.
Her clothing is made out of her hair.

You're overthinking it a bit, I feel.
Yahtzee, Matt, and Yug hypothesized several control devices like a remote in her [EXPLICATIVE DELETED] for the right shoe and a remote in her [EXPLICATIVE DELETED] for the left shoe before we knew that her hair was par.............

Why am I explaining this?
Wait whaddaya talkin' about Yahtzee, Mat, and Yug, talking about... Just explain to me how you know this.

Ok, ignoring the inventive advertising...

40/40? From Famitsu? This is the twelfth game ever to receive a perfect score from that magazine? Maybe this isn't the derivative DMC clone I had it pegged as since I first heard of that.
Link? While in recent years Famitsu have been dishing out 40/40s every which way, this does have me intrigued and I do wish to see what more people and publications think of it.
360 version got a 40/40 PS3 got a 39/40

Honestly I don't put a lot of stake in Famitsu, they have been wrong before.

I was just taking the OP post's word for it, although some googling reveals the scans that confirm it (all in Japanese of course). It's out early in Japan, and I think Famitsu got the first review so you'll have to wait a while to get a better impression of the critical consensus on the game. I just realised that Famitsu gave FFXII a perfect score, so perhaps it isn't the legendary badge of perfection it once was.
Oh I don't doubt that, it just has me interested. I don't plan on buying this any time now anyway.

what were they thinking in the advertisement department?
"soooo.....nude?"
"yeah....nude"
"but they have to ,you know, look at a game flyer first"
"diabolical bastard give him a promotion!"
(random guy cause i say so) "I LIKE PONIES!"

They could allways try something similar to this gimmick, but make sure that she is wearing the hair outfit under it.

Okay, there's got to be a better explanation rather than "sex sells" or "Japan is weird". Thing is, what?
That is a very good question...perhaps time will tell, or perhaps not...

I watched the game trailers for this, looks pretty good so far. Since it was originally a Japanese game we can expect decent playabilty and a good storyline.
